Title: So, is anon religious?

Lolita Protestor - March 18, 2008 09:14 PM (GMT)
Now, you don't have to give names but, do any of us have beliefs?

Lulz0matic - March 18, 2008 09:16 PM (GMT)
Pastafarianism.

Though I'm working on the founding of the dangerous cult of the Church of Quiltology.

Lolita Protestor - March 18, 2008 09:20 PM (GMT)
I'm a non-worshipping christian.

I.e: I have belief in God, in eternal life, but i do not believe in the organized religion side of it.

PennonII - March 18, 2008 09:23 PM (GMT)
Moar Agnostic.
I'm still technically christened Catholic, but I'm merely open to the concept of religon. I also see the bible as more of the a set of morals than truths.

Lulz0matic - March 18, 2008 09:24 PM (GMT)
Revelations makes for a real good read.

TheDudeWhoWearsTheNirvanaShirt - March 18, 2008 10:50 PM (GMT)
I don't mind religions, everyone's entitled to them, but to me they're just different people's opinion... Adults with imaginary friends ect...

Obvious Atheist.

BritFagATDI - March 18, 2008 11:37 PM (GMT)
Agnostic Theist.

I go one step further than sitting on the fance, by saying which side I'd fall on if pushed. XD.

No. I'm not Monotheist.

I am open to the concept of a religion. But have yet to find a religion I believe in.

But I do *think* (not faith) that there is a creator. I just don't know what it is. And if I saw direct proof that a creator didn't exist, I could accept that.

Where as my friend is an Agnostic Atheist. He is open to the concept, and is not saying there is deffinatly no God. But believes there probably isn't.

The idea of a creator IMO doesn't answer the question of where everything came from. It just adds another unnecessary layer to the question, who/what created the creator?

While we're on the subject of the great philosophical questions such as the origins and purpose of the universe, here is a short story by Isaac Asimov which I read recently.

The ending of this story really blew me away, try not to skip to the end before reading the story an don't post the ending here it will ruin the surprise for those who haven't read it yet.

SNAPE KILLS DUBLEDORE! ;)

Same. Although I'm not open to any form of religion, just to the existence of god.

There is no proof of the existence of god in any form, or any proof that there isn't a god of any form. To me, to say you know otherwise seems strange. All you would be basing your opinion on would be a gut feeling and that really doesn't seem like enough for such a strong belief.

Emperor be Praised, One and only servant of his most holy majesty the Emperor of Mankind, long may his golden light shine.

Now you look and think if im serious or not, then you realise that i was carrying my Imperial Uplifting Primer, my Guard issue Tags and you realise that i may have taken the whole Warhammer 40k bit too far, but everyone has to believe in something even if thats nothing.

It just so happens that i believe in the Immortal Emperor of Mankind

When I was a little boy
I would pray to god
Not because I believed in god
But because I wanted God to believe in me
Why wait for heaven
To experience glamour and beauty
I want it all
And I want it now
And God was in a good mood

Ooh, how wrong you are. It's from Chihuahas on Parade by Army of Lovers.
I always liked the line, "Not because I believed in god
But because I wanted God to believe in me."

Myself is thoroughly ANTI-Theist Atheist - as in, have major problems with all religions, hate most of them and pity people who can't open their eyes and realise that the world is a beautiful place, without the need for a 'creator' to have made it so.

On another note - also hate 'alternative therapy' >> especially Homeopathy and Chiropracty

Eh. Being opposed to things is a way of life for Myself.
