The server will be u 24/7 with no down time, just waiting for it to be activated.

Not sure what software comes wth it but I'll let you know.
It will be good to talk to you guys in real time.

One question... I've clicked on IRC links before, but my precious firefox knows not what to do with it.

And neither do I... I'm more used to the likes of instant messaging services.

Halp?

A link posted inside a channel? Double-click it and a dialog box should appear, click "Yes".

if you are used to im software this might be easier for you

*is lost*

Example: When brumanon.co.uk was hacked, it gave a link to the goon IRC... I clicked on it and it came up with a http://irc. *something* Firefox comes up with a dialogue message saying something to the effect of "OES NOES!!1 firefox don't know what do with linky liek .irc!!! KTHXBAI" *click OK*

Is a different program needed for .irc links, or will my precious open-source browser suffice?

*EDIT*

Aha... Pidgin... with this I am familiar. I didn't know it could do irc. I shall investigate further.

Download mIRC or another IRC program.

It's all nonsense to me. =(

anon101z - March 23, 2008 11:17 PM (GMT)
I'll get it all setup then,

and maybe we could have the link near to the count down time or somthing.

Just had a look at it, this will be easier than I thought to setup.

I'll let y know when it's all up and running.

For anon using Firefox (and if not, why not? ;) ) use chatzilla;

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/16

This opens a tab for each irc:// link (so Firefox won't cry) and saves downloading yet another app.

Unless I've gone blind (and given the amount of Dawn of War I've played over the bank holiday its a distinct possibility) has the IRC link been posted yet? I like my XChat more than Java apps :)

Firefox users should use the ChatZilla plugin.
