Title: Next Mission Beckham?

Sorry if this has already been noted - but I'm reading the wikiarticle about the unofficial Cruise bio and saw this little snippet:

QUOTE
The recruitment of David Beckham to Scientology is described as Cruise's next mission for the Church.[16]

If this is right - then we need to find a way to put a stop to it, because D.Beckham has far too many avid fanfollowers than is healthy and every last one of them would be taken in by the scilon brainwashing if he joined.

Ok, maybe not every last one of them, but a goodly amount that scares me more than just a little. And a lot of them would be the younger generations.

This is a bad thing.

What say Anon? >>

True, but what can we actually do about it? We can't exactly go edit a book, not that I'm going to just give up on this one, but we're rather screwed on counters.

We can write him letters.

That's true...but we'd need an address first and it better be good...
I got B at GCSE, someone else do it =D

Anything the Beckham's do is a publicity stunt.

I don't particulalry like either of the Beckham's, but the point is that thousands of people in the UK do - and once they see the Beckham's signing up for Scientology (if it happens - and I wouldn't be surprised at this juncture) they'll follow suit.

Honestly - I have no idea what we could do! Some form of open letter to them, perhaps?

Actually - has anyone thought of doing that yet? An Open Letter to the public about Scientology?

I've seen many Open Letters written by respected citizens and published both online and off - so is this something we could think about?

Actually - if we can get together and afford it - I think it could be an idea to inform the UK as a whole, rather than just the 'Beckhams' >>

Maybe I should go see if anyone on Enturb has suggested such an idea

DaftHats - April 14, 2008 06:05 PM (GMT)
Ooh, I like that idea. Who wants the honour of writing the letter?

greenleaves - April 14, 2008 06:12 PM (GMT)
I would be perfectly willing to write it - and of course check with all Anons to make sure they agree and that I have info correct etc
