Title: Heat exhaustion? On my peach?

yeah, so there's this big thread over on enturbulation about how to cope with heat stroke at forthcoming protests.

I would just like to remind anon that we live in the UK, and thus heatstroke is the least of our problems. Unlike the Californians and Floridians and whatnot, our more likely danger actually comes from hypothermia and cold, not heat and dehydration.

You all already know this, but the UK is the windiest country in Europe, and one of the windiest in the world. Even on a clear, sunny day, our wind chill factor is significant. That, and our weather in recent years has been acting crazy (like, snow in July of 2005 crazy). Not to mention the rain.

Sure, we might wind up having a freak heat wave, but I suggest that everyanon comes with a lot of layers. It's always better to have to shed a few layers, than being too cold and not having any extra clothes handy.

and always remember whatever the weather dehydration (?) is something to watch out for, if yer thirsty you're already prolly dehydrated.

Yeah, I faint due to hyperventilating/lack of fluids if I get too excited. If I look a little wobbly just grab my arm.

Scudmuffin's sig would solve this!

This'll probably only cause problems June July time, so someone remember it, please!

Wrong. But it's good to have water with you anyway.
