Title: Setting out our Stall.

Anon76 - April 28, 2008 10:22 AM (GMT)
I know this idea has been floated before just prior to 12/04, but we didn't really have time to run with it then, I think this time it would be a good idea if we can get it organised.

A stall would give us a point of focus and co-ordination, a place to put a selection of leaflets and a point for the public to come if they want to chat to someone and somewhere to direct people to if anyone is requesting more info.

Also we could stick out cakes, bags, spare clothes and shizzle underneath it as long as there is always one or 2 anons there,

We don't need anything too fancy, just a foldable wallpapering table or similar, perhaps with a banner stuck to the front, in the centre of new street between the benches so the public can pass on either side and we are not causing any obstruction.

Does anyone have a foldable table that it would be practical for them to bring along?

I think my mate's got one, I'll ask him.

sound like a good idear, and makes us look a little bit more profesonal

We did have a green picnic table, but I'm not sure if we still have it. It had 4 seats so 2 anons could be on one side and two other people could sit down and talk.

The question is who'd man it? It'd have to be the most knowledgeable and also friendly and good with people. Also it'd be best to look friendly and unthreatening so it may be better not to have the mask on at the time, puts people off.

Hahaha, where do I sign up? Everyone loved me last time round.

Setting up a stall like that requires permission from the council. :(

If you are considering running an event within the City Centre eg. setting up a stall, use of vehicles, actors, costumes, video screens etc. then you must seek permission from City Centre Management (telephone 0121 616 2894).

Anyone feel like ringing them?

On it.

[edit]

OK, there shouldn't be a problem with it, as long as we're not selling stuff. They did ask if we'd have leaflets/material handed out and I said yes, though I pointed out that they could get those from any member on the day. The woman I spoke to said it sounded like it would be ok, but she needs to confirm that. She'll give me a ring back later, I'll be ringing her tomorrow anyway.

Also asked for some clarification on the leaflet issue.

Yes, its only there for if you want to do street performances.
Otherwirse every time someone wanted to do a themed pub crawl they'd have to notify the council, which is blatantly stupid ;)

Does anyone feel like running the stall? Or will anons change whenever they feel the need to move?

ScudMuffin - April 30, 2008 06:37 PM (GMT)
Take turns manning the stall.

LegionsOfOne - May 2, 2008 12:25 PM (GMT)
I'll be happy to do stints manning the stall between being loud and attention whoring in the name of the cause/self lulz.

if one was to be put up i would definately reccomend co$play doing it because he can have a few good rants at people who disagree with him, sinos and evangelicals alike ;)
