Title: Win/Fail

TrilbyAnonymous - May 10, 2008 02:36 PM (GMT)
Win: Just fun again overall, Lots of friendly Anons and decent public response

Fail: Sun, YoYo, Bible Basher, Not Many Chants

DISCUSS

almajir - May 10, 2008 02:38 PM (GMT)
Win: Lots of interested people

fail: stopped from leafleting, YoYo.

anonfag - May 10, 2008 04:33 PM (GMT)
Win: Person trying to get both sides of the story, was told we where terrorists, and mentioned that "If its a church, shouldn't people be allowed in for at all times", after being told "You can only come in if you have an appointment" by scientologists. Also stopping some curious minds going in by warning them that its a cult.

Fail: Some anons getting photographed without maskes when going to the toilet

ScudMuffin - May 10, 2008 05:26 PM (GMT)
Win:

People turned up, public now know roughly what we're about/remember us.

Loss:

Lower Turn Out. Leaflets. Yoyo.

nail - May 10, 2008 06:03 PM (GMT)
What's YoYo?

I was disappointed by the turnout and the leaflet situation. It was a lot less fun than last time, and I'm not inclined to come next time unless we get a leaflet permit.
Still, we educated some people about the evils of Scientology.
This thing about photos is worrying, though.

YoYo's a shop that complained as we were "scaring customers"

And yeah
Unless the 14th looks promising I too shall remain at home

Anon76 - May 10, 2008 06:17 PM (GMT)
Win: stopped that group of 6 people going in to the CoS

Win: Shut them down for another day.

Win: Got a nice suntan

Win: annoyed Chris Wrapson.

Win: Got filmed by a scientologist without my mask on a toilet break so could abandon my mask and didn't need to spend the rest of the day sweating my tits off.

Win: Four Nil to anonymous.

Win: Nice day out and a drink in the pub

Guise, the leaflet situation will be sorted.

We'd virtually ran out of leaflets by that stage anyway.

Turnout was a bit down but we still got the message to a lot of people, it's infinitely better than if we'd not been there at all.

We wilted a little due to the heat and it was a different style of protest than the others due to that but we got the message to some more people building on previous successes.

Next time - Please be there.

Thing is, you abandon it and it makes the turnout worse.

The turnout was to be expected because of people's exams etc.

Yeah, but a 90-minute journey each way in exam season doesn't seem worth it if it's not going to be any good.

almajir - May 10, 2008 06:46 PM (GMT)
Well, that's your decision of course, but it would be a shame to not come because you don't think it'll be any good.

Anon76 - May 10, 2008 06:52 PM (GMT)
Yup, it's as good as you make it,

Today it was hot, we wilted, it's becoming routine rather than being something new and exciting, people are concentrating on exams.

Take a week away, come back refreshed and re-energised with new ideas plan for another epic win and make it happen.

If you see today as the beginning of the end, it will be.

If you see today as a dip with better to come, it will be, the decision is yours.

almajir - May 10, 2008 07:07 PM (GMT)
I enjoyed it today, and I already am thinking of things for the next one.

spoon - May 10, 2008 07:26 PM (GMT)
As has been said, the turnout will have been mostly due to exams. As for me, I'm afraid I was a no-show today as I had to look after a relative but I'll do my damndest to be there next time. We - as in all of us worldwide - have come so far in such a short amount of time, it'd be a shame to pack it in now.

Anyway, well done to everybody who could make it. Hopefully I and many others will be back on the streets with you next month!

P.S, about Wrapson getting pissed off; what happened?

Jenkum - May 10, 2008 07:28 PM (GMT)
i had a great time.
i had the hoody with two large Bs in white on it and the apple bag.

Win: educated a few people on CoS. God experiance for me as it was my first one

Fail: Bible basher, that cunt from yoyo's that threatend us to move.

It was generally a fun day. There was more positive response than negative.

Some notes i made from the day:
I thought the music was sometimes too loud, sometimes we couldnt speak to the public properly coz they couldnt hear us.

I also noted that alot of people thought we were protesting FOR Scientology and not AGAINST. If the public are going to be that dumb then maybe we should say that we are actually protesting against it. i.. put it on poster etc. The older guy with glasses was telling everyone we were against, which i tought was good.

Shame about the low turnout, but dont give up!

My brother coming along and actually getting along with the oldfags.

FAIL:
The fact that the protest just wasn't as fun.

Cool. I hope bruce can come again. It's good to have an older people with us coz alot of people go on about us protesting coz were young. A few people really didn't get the idea.

Anyway, we gotta sort the leaflets out. I printed about 280 and they went quick. So next time ill bring about 600, then everyone should be able to distribute. Providing we are aloud to leaflet.

I work for the council, so if anyone wants me to ring/e-mail or write a letter to council memebers to see if we can get permission to leaflet then i dont mind (pm if you do). I speak their bullshit lingo lol. You just gotta keep the pressure on them coz most are lazy.

Free hugs dude - May 11, 2008 01:31 PM (GMT)
Win:Giving information, good conversations, buying a balloon for someone, the giant pins walking through town,

Fail: God forsaken heat, group of kids round the back, not as many people to crowd the streets and cause random dancing, no free hugs sign!

Aye, it does, sadly we kinda ruined our signs this time, and I never thought about getting my old free hugs sign I made last year.

Annoam - May 11, 2008 01:46 PM (GMT)
Fail: Not being able to be there (Well i was there but i was with Family, i say "im going to birmingham" and then everyone's coming with me. I dropped by and got a Leaflet and an explanation of Lisa and the details with her (Call it a pop quiz, need to make sure your on your toes).

My only concern is a lare portion of my family (6 of us in total would say probally 4 of them) couldnt understand what it was we were for or against and i couldnt start explaining to them because it would give me away.

Still overall not to bad, i would say Win would be a very professional and well done show (From what i saw). No violence, just peaceful protest and epic win. Heres looking forward to next time

anon for the win - May 11, 2008 02:49 PM (GMT)
Win: Friendly anons, got some good pics and video footage, stopped a group of people going into COS and the conversation i had with them afterwards was epic :D good cake, good response from public, had some good debate with members of the public too

Fail: Anons getting photographed, complaint from YoYo, didnt have as many leaflets and then coupled with that being asked to stop leafleting, the numbers dwindled in the afternoon, maybe because of the sun, lack of leaflets other reasons? HEAT

I am sorry that I was not able to make it with my free hugs sign, but I had to be elsewhere this weekend. :(

But like ninja, I managed to give over 60 You Found The Card cards on saturday, and stuck more in every damn toilet I could get near. So I supported the protesting as best as possible.

Even if the numbers were low, more of us will be free for the next one! We already have a balloon Anon, are there any icecream Anons out there? Would be good for the next one, this weekend was too hot.
