Title: Anonymity
nail - March 9, 2008 01:48 AM (GMT)
I have comrades who went to the Feb. 10th meeting in another city with very little disguise, but I know there is a general consesus here to remain untraceable. Even with a :mask: , though I'm yet to purchase one, my appearance is quite unique. Would it be more of a danger to myself than a help to the cause for me to come? What are the risks of detection?
anon1812 - March 9, 2008 01:55 AM (GMT)
I reckon there are plenty of ways of masking and demasking without being followed, therefore, I reckon you'll be fine. As for your unique appearance, you could take a taxi for a short distance, to get them off your trail.

Well, I'm yet to decide whether I intend to attend or not. Such a structured, official and law-abiding protest is new ground to me and I'm not yet sure if I could be part of a formal Anonymous group, though I do believe in the cause. I shall discuss with the aforementioned acquaintances.

Good plan.
... but think of the Cake.

Sure you could.... just read up on the subject, turn up, obey the guidelines and bob's yer uncle

I have the same problem.
My hair length/colour is particularly distinguishable.
SUGGESTION.
Bring a hat (and possibly a bobble or some shit, if, like me, you have any length to your hair.)
Approaching town.
Hat, Sunglasses, Ponytail tied under the hat, jeans and a band shirt.
Dodge in somewhere to get changed.
Hat in bag, bobble on wrist, mask on face,
Put suit shirt/tie/jacket on over bandshirt.
Protest.
Escape.
Dodge in somewhere safe.
Back to bandshirt,
tie hair back up.
Put hat and glasses back on.
That's my plan anyway.

I'm not a fan of guidelines but I'll just see.
Of course, if I do turn up I won't be an arse.

That's what i'm planning on doing, yet to decide if i'll use it at the protest, or travelling to/from the protest.

I also have quite lovely unique hair, but it bothers me not. As i'll be many a mile from where i reside, plus i may wear a hat before i mask up.
nail - March 9, 2008 06:43 PM (GMT)
Now I've thought about it, I'll be miles from home too, and the hair could even be considered 'part of the costume' so I doubt I need to worry.
Plus I've no fear of being found out as I'm doing nothing wrong.

I live in West Brom, so quite close. =/

I think now is the time to be even more cautious about anonymity... particularly after DM's recent hissy fit and mention of "Express handling" us...
(WTF is "express handling"?)
:(

Actually, as weird and sudden as this may seem, DM didn't just pull this Marcabian thing out of his ass.
Hubbard wrote about the Marcabians a long time ago, stating everything on their planet looked exactly as earth did circa 1950.
Strangely enough, the Marcabians also wore black suits with black ties and fedora hats, exactly like the Anonymous 'uniform'. Obviously, this was because Hubbard had a habit of incorporating everything he disliked into Scientology, (psychiatrists, the Navy, etc), and as we all know Hubbard hated the FBI and tax men, who, in Hubbard's days wore..... Black suits, black ties and fedoras!
It's the perfect explanation for Miscavige to use in regards to Anonymous!
I for one, welcome our Marcabian overlords. Marcabian 5th Invasion Fleet represent!

Bowler hats are the new black. :P
Do you have a cape?.. and Catherine Zeta Jones?.. Then you really could be Zorro...
I'll be wearing - Sensible trousers ( Black jeans ) Blazer from School, and As my name suggests, a Nirvana t-shirt underneath it
and if I can get my hands on one, a Bowler hat, or Fedora hat, if not then blah.
anon1812 - March 12, 2008 08:44 PM (GMT)
Indeed bowler hats are the new black!!!
I just wish mine fitted over my mask :xenu:
Lolita Protestor - March 12, 2008 09:00 PM (GMT)
How can i disguise the bottom half of my face?
anon1812 - March 12, 2008 09:12 PM (GMT)
Bandanna/ Scarf?
Not all that necessary unless there's something spectacularly noticeable about the bottom half of your face that can identify you.
Lolita Protestor - March 12, 2008 09:17 PM (GMT)
mreh, just my lips, and teeth...and scar...
anon1812 - March 12, 2008 09:20 PM (GMT)
Well then a Bandanna works fine :ph43r:
Lolita Protestor - March 12, 2008 09:24 PM (GMT)
Epic win. Thank you good anon.
TheDudeWhoWearsTheNirvanaShirt - March 13, 2008 07:02 PM (GMT)

It's not that identifiable... is it?
If I can, I'm going to buy a V-Mask before I get to Ethel Street.
