Ok, now I know we've got enough to deal with on the 15th but I reckon this is something we could do as it wont take much planning.

Awesome idea.... Now all we have to do is elect a spokesperson. :)

Now we just need a time so everyone knows when to pay attention... Should we organise the time ourselves, or should we wait to see if there'll be a global time like every protest does it at 1 o'clock local time or something like that?

I like the idea of the minutes silence at the end of the speech, as it would be kinda like combining the two, seeming as though we have so many separate things going on already...

I have no objection to Lulzomatic doing it, was all so considering putting myself forward as ive made speachs before (Though never with a megaphone, usually just on stage infornt of people (not many only 50-100 people. I think my max was 200 when i address my year at school)).

Still some advice for you Lulz. Be pationate, let it flow in your voice. Sounds sad but practe in a mirror, imagine your the crowd watching you and try to get a feel for what your talking about. Use your hands to emphasis points.

Watch Tony Blair or David Cameron or Winston Churchill. All great speach makers, learn from them. Watch how they target the crowd and make them feel involved.

The key is to not sound like your addressing the Mass but the individual. If you wish i would be willing to create a short 10-15 second recording of myself doing the speach if you want to get a gist for it?

I mean if you really want to see a master in work then Watch Adolf Hitler. Though i do not support his views, he was fabulous at this sort of thing. The passion in his voice, the belief in what he was talking about it all came together in his speachs. People are often quoted as saying "I felt as though he were talking to me, no one else just me".

Speaking infront of crowds has never bothered me.

I snatched this from Enturb. I think it is pretty good but of course whoever does it might want to make some changes. In high school I did debates and motivational speaking and I would definitely suggest printing it out, underlining words you feel need emphasis and then practicing in front of a mirror!

I would not recommend altering the speech, because part of the idea of Operation Global Speech is to have the speeches filmed and then edit parts together from all the protests into one video, if we go off script, that would ruin the effect.

Actually reading through it more fully, there are other parts that only apply in the US, and they also mention the tax exempt status which is not the case in the UK.

they may not have full charity status, but they are exempt from paying VAT, and also have refused to pay all other taxes for decades (IIRC) without anyone kicking up too much of a fuss, not even the inland revenue.

Not sure how it would look on video, but if we had a line of Anon's with, say, a paragraph each.

Stresses the point there is no voice of Anon; for we are many.

And it also means I don't have to commit the whole thing to memory; which is always a good thing.

Perhaps we could have index cards with a paragraph of the speech on each one?

I think, firstly, that it should be read out form something, so as to ensure accuracy, so that it is as close as possible to one global speech. Secondly, yeah, maybe have a couple of people read it out, if it's really neccessary. I think it may actually work better with just one person reading it, as every speech fro mevery protest is to be compiled into one video anyway, which would dispel the idea of a single voice anyway.

If it's committed to memory it'd look better.

Not hard to remember a paragraph using phonetic devices either.

But that's just my opinion.

It's possible it would look better, but I remember one video from the 10th, with a guy reading out from a piece of paper - as far as I could see, it looked fine, and seemed to get a decent reaction from passers-by as well.

reading it is fine, you just need to make it look like its there for referrence and not because you dont know it.

I think the idea of a few to read it is good but we need to balance this with not too many. maybe 3-5 at maximum.

Just thought, important point:

How are everyone else around the world doing this? Ideally, the closer we can all manage to actually deliver this speech, the better.

I took the speech from a thread on Entrub so it should be fairly consistent. I also posted the UK friendly version on there so hopefully others will use that too. I will keep an eye on the thread in case there is a major update to the speech.

If you need 3-5 people to read it, I would like to volunteer to be one of them if you need it :)

If the uniform consists of V mask, black trousers, jacket, tie and white shirt I am set!

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for matching uniforms, but won't that make us easier to spot and/or follow? After all, it's kinda hard to change in and out of an entire outfit.

Please bear in mind that this speech will serves three main purposes:

(i) The creation of a global Anonymous public relations video

(ii) The provision of useful sound-bites for the worldwide media

(iii) A motivational speech to Anons protesting on March 15th

The first purpose is the most important and will aid the publicity and longevity of our cause. The aim being to create a PR video that will comprise of clippings of the same speech cut-together from all over the world.


TIPS FOR THE SPEAKER

1. Project your voice. Everyone must be able to hear you!

2. Vocal range. Don't sound monotone. Alter pitch and volume to emphasize words.

3. Hand motions. Draw in the attention of your audience.

4. Practice in a mirror and familiarize/memorize as much as possible. Eliminate all umms and ahhs. Ensure that the delivery is second-nature to you.


TIPS FOR FILMING

We must aim to film the speech as uniformly as possible at all protest locations.

>> CAMERAS

The speech should be recorded on high-quality fixed mounted digital cameras to avoid jerky footage.

Close-up camera: This should film the speaker with masked Anons in the background.

Wide-angle camera: Contextualise! A high-quality camera taking tripod-mounted panning shots of:

Roving camera: This will be a bonus to catch the reactions of people listening.

All scenes should aim to be as well lit as possible.

5. THE IDEA BEHIND A GLOBAL SPEECH

March 15th will truly be a time for Anonymous to shine - however, we must do all we can to make March 15th a LASTING PR TRIUMPH. There is no better way at attracting people's attention than by Anonymous showing that it is a GLOBAL critical mass. This requires all Anonymous protests around the world to have a linking theme. We already have the masks and the same agenda - but why not have a unifying speech that can be read out to fellow Anons and bystanders alike during the protests. This speech should be no more than 2 minutes long and should be translated into all principal languages where protests will be taking place. One Anon will be chosen to read aloud (possibly by megaphone) the speech. This should be videotaped and recorded in high quality at each location. Then just like the "ROAD TO FEB 10th", a similar video can be made of the March 15th protest with excerpts of the speech cut together from all around the world. Where part of the speech is read in a language other than English, subtitles can be provided. The entire speech when edited together would be comprised of about 20 or so cuts from all around the world. There is no better way to show global unity to our cause than this. The PR clout would be immense.

I'm gonna have to drop out of the speech aspect.

Got a cold, my throat sounds really rough right now.

I really like the new draft of the speech. I have printed out a couple of copies and will bring them on Sat. Now that the speech is a bit shorter do we want 2-3 people to do it? or just one? I am up for it if you guys dont mind my accent lulz

I'm still up for doing a part of it. My accent's from this side of the pond, but I aint native Brummie.
