Title: Weather

anodomini - March 10, 2008 07:39 PM (GMT)
Looks like it might be rainy, cold and windy...which is not good.

I was thinking about this earlier, but really, what does it matter?

If it rains, and we stay steadfast, it shows persistence to the cause :)

I think it is supposed to clear up by Saturday. It will definitely be cold but hopefully not wet :) I have an idea... how about we just postulate the rain away?! lulz

Maybe it'll be like D-Day and a brief period of goodish weather will shine upon us in between the bad

The BBC shows this for Saturday

We need to think about preparing for the worst but I wouldn't worry too much yet.

Have you got any signs that could run in the wet, clear sticky backed plastic is your friend.

A few bin bags can protect any electrical equipment in case of showers and can also double up as an emergency poncho.

And a towel in your bag or backpack might be an idea if the forecast is particualrly nasty, to quote the hitchhikers guide to the galalxy:

A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value - you can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a mini raft down the slow heavy river Moth; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or to avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mindboggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you - daft as a bush, but very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.

http://uk.weather.com/ says that Saturday should be partly cloudy with 10% chance of precipitation and 9mph wind from the North Northwest :D *takes off Michael Fish hat*

To Quote Forecastfox (Accuweather.com):

Saturday in Birmingham:
Times of Clouds and sun, 8C, feels like 3C
Wind 6m/s WNW (Gust 11m/s)

I don't think we need to be worried about saturday's weather.

Yay, looks like Xenu smiles upon us again.

It's looking good, but don't be complacent.

Hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.

Falco - March 10, 2008 08:51 PM (GMT)
Either way, we shouldn't let it affect us too much. The only possible problem I forsee is that the public are likely to just hurry past to get into shelter, rather than pay attention to what we're doing.

Exactly, nothing short of 6 ft of floodwater or a new ice age will stop me.

New ice age? Bring it on, i'd enjoy the challenge :P

Absolutely no chance of a hurricane.
