Title: Email Campaign
Description: Email Queens Square Shopping Centre

Anon76 - March 12, 2008 07:07 PM (GMT)
We have unfortunately been unable to find a direct Email address [so far] for the Queens Square Shopping Centre.

However we do have an email address for someone from their PR Company

ajones@goodrelations.co.uk from the http://www.newqueenssquare.com/contact.htm website

Hopefully she will forward our emails on, she must certainly pass on the message if lots of emails are received.

Below is the email I have drafted and will be sending this evening.

QUOTE

Dear Ms Jones,

I am writing to express my deepest concern over a proposed exhibition to be hosted by the Queens Square Shopping Centre.

The exhibition is called 'Psychiatry - An Industry Of Death' by the Citizens Commission on Human Rights and is due to run from Monday 31st March until Thursday 17th April 2008. - See link http://www.cchr.org.uk/exhibitions.htm

Whilst the name "Citizens Commission on Human Rights" certainly makes it sound like they are a alturistic group looking to help people, the truth is somewhat different.

The group have absolutely no interest in stopping the many human rights abuses around the world, they are an ofshoot of the Church of Scientology  (http://www.cchr.org.uk/about.htm) and their only agenda is promoting the CoS's extreme views on psychiatric care and psychiatric medicines.

The CCHR & Church of Scientology's views on Psychiatric care and psychiatric medicine are well documented and include the belief that psychiatry is responsible for Eugenics and the Holocaust.

See the following image of the Scientology exhibition 'Psychiatry - An Industry Of Death' in Los Angeles -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Piod_museum_eugenics.jpg
from the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychiatry:_A...dustry_of_Death

This bizarre and offensive belief was also shown in BBC Panorama: Scientology and me, broadcast in 2007.

I'm sure that you realise by now that hosting this exhibition would be HIGHLY OFFENSIVE to a large number of your customers and I trust that you will now reconsider your decision to allow this exhibition to take place in the Queens Square Shopping Centre.

Thank you for taking the time to read my concerns and I look forward to your reply.

Want us to slightly edit the email before sending it ourselves so to avoid the impression of DELICIOUS Spam?

Anon76 - March 12, 2008 08:20 PM (GMT)
Yes that would be a good idea,

Many differently worded emails would be better than one cut and paste job.

No I wouldn't ... would I???

As anyone got a reply back from them, sent two emails on Friday and haven't got a reply yet.

No reply from mine yet :(

Any success?

I don't think anyone's got a reply back.

Then we should perhaps move to the next stage - contacting the local media rather than just ignoring our concerns.

If the Queens Square start getting enquiries from the media they may start to take it more seriously.

Where should we start, can anyone compile a list of local media outlets?

I agree with anon76. April is less than 2 weeks away & it's unlikely the shopping centre will cancel the display at very short notice. We need to contact local media. I've sent a snail mail letter to Queens Square on Monday. Hopefully will get a reply from that.

Hope that helps. Remember the postcode ... I haven't sent a real letter in years.

I've just found a telephone number. Should I give them a call?

Go for it if you haven't already.

Shall I inform the police of a possible protest?

Time grows short. =/

If so;

Times and days, plz.

I called the management of Queens Square. Unfortunately, I encountered a messaging service. I left a kind message simply saying that I wanted to discuss if the managment of Queens square were aware of the fact that the enxhibition, Industry of Death, was by a group (CCHR) that acted as a front group for the CoS. I ended the message saying that I would call back later today or tommorrow so that we could discuss any issues relating to the controversy caused by this exhibition. I sounded professional, calm and considerate - I hope it works. I'll try again later today and update you guys.

The number is 0121 553 4694.

I will recon the shopping centre early next week and record the details of the shops. We can then inform the shopkeepers of CCHR and the negative impact it would have on their business. That should produce some interesting results.

It will be EPIC of us to stall/cancel/ruin this exhibit. The $cinos will see that we are unafraid to tackle them anywhere, anytime.

Lulz0matic - March 21, 2008 03:29 PM (GMT)
I'll drop down the police station as soon as I have a full scope of what it is I need to inform them.

Had a quick glance of their forums, no sign of it that I could see.

Someone check I didn't miss it?

Edit: Nevermind, I missed it first time round.

I'm sticking it on Enturb and Clambake if it's not already there, hopefully we can get some added support from there.

Falco - March 25, 2008 08:49 PM (GMT)
I think I saw something on Enturb about it.

ScudMuffin - March 25, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)
This one?

There is some discussion on it in another thread, but that's on the CCHR/YCHR itself.
