Title: Are home made leaflets a no no?
Lolita Protestor - March 12, 2008 10:29 PM (GMT)
Yeah, my printer (epic fail) broke last Saturday and i still haven't managed to fix it because of my retarded hands.
So, are hand mate cut out pieces of paper with a website written on a terrible no no?

It depends,
I'd say a flyer should have a decent amount of well-worded and well thought out info on it and should look at least moderately professional and should have more info than they can get from just seeing our signs.
Slips of paper with web addresses are good for spreading around to get the message out but I think flyers to be handed out on the day should offer more detail.
Last time a number of us chipped in a few quid to get more photocopies of the leaflets we had, which is probably better than giving out something which the public might think is poor quality and just discard.

I wouldn't say they're a terrible Nono...
If you want you could just stick to making epic sign?

I might do, though the idea of giving people slips of paper with XENU.NET in hand written ink may hit home a little harder than the image of a sign they can forget the next second.

If you make hand made ones, you are compromising proffessionality, but on the other hand it seems more personal if writen by hand.
I'd probably be more likely to look at the website if it was hand-writen, 'cause it makes it seem like someone gave their time and effort to do it. I'd probably think it was advertising something if it was just a printed card with a web adress on it. But that's just me, though.

S'not just you. I think I would also take the same view of a hand-written note. I just wish I had moar free time betwixt now and 15/3 :(

So, lets see...how about as many hand written XENU.NET small slips of paper between now and Saturday? At least i'd feel like i was contributing more...?

Doesn't all have to be xenu, there are other links in the "what do we need to know about scientology" thread ... or something to that effect.
You could also include slips like:
Google: Lisa McPhearson
www.whyaretheydead.net
Exchange Lisa McPhearson for anyone listed on whyaretheydead.net.
For some reason I can't find Shawn Londsdale on there... Maybe I'm just being blind.

Will do, i'll go for, whyaretheydead.net and also youfoundthecard.com
