Title: Guidance for Protest

1. No Leafleting/stickering of the public in the consent Zone. If you do you will most likely get fined. If you are going to leaflet, it's better to do it in broad street round the back of the library/paradise forum as that's outside the consent zone. I have a map so I can show you where you should and shouldn't go.

2. Keep volume of megaphones and amp equipment to a respectable level. If you don't you will be viewed as causing a public nuisance by the police and could get a summons, or at the worst arrested. Half volume for megaphones, or 7 above ambient for speakers is the recommended general rule of thumb. Or just speak to a PCSO or warden on the day.

3. Don't block off area's. Try and stay around the benches and on the junction. The police can act if needed under Section 8 of the Public Order Act 1986.

4. Be wary of what you put on your sign. Check Racial and Religious Hate Crimes Act 2006 and look at clause 29J. That will basically tell you what you can and can't do.

5. Singing: We Need Moar! No volume restrictions on that and it attracts attention to our protest. Then the info anons can stand around the outside and talk to the general public people as needed.

6. Food and drink: bring some. No only is it tastey, cherry pop is good for putting out bin fires ;) Remember that the Police won't take any if offered as that could be seen as a bribe.

7. Check out the PSAs! You can find them linked on the main site, a link to which is at the top of this thread. That'll give you tips on how to protest, signs and such. Link below.

I'd also add that it's important to know what you're saying if you are talking to the public - the new scilon tactic seems to be filming people shooting themselves in the foot.

Educate yourself - the Goose stuff is excellent. Prompt sheets are good - keep it simple, keep your language soft and your stance open.

yeah, that's in the PSAs.
