Title: Thoughts on the op
Description: I'd tell you but I'd have to kill you

Jenkum - July 12, 2008 04:29 PM (GMT)
I say win, alot of people spoke to us today.
I was ready to talk, but no one came over to me.
Next one i shall be asking people if they want to know more.
Rain was fail, Xenu brought it on us, but then took it back.
Some Anon gave me a T Shirt, thanks!
The Rick Astley was win, alot of people took notice of us, i mean ALOT.
I had to leave earlier than usual, and then caught the wrong train home and ended up in telford, instead of codsall :( fail
Bubbles were epic, and HelmetAnons rampage on the bubbles with an umbrella was awesome.
Bring on the next one!
LittleChris - July 12, 2008 05:08 PM (GMT)
Catching the wrong train is fail :(
I think it was win. We talked to alot of people, and bruce convinced someone to get out of scientology.
:D
xoixoi - July 12, 2008 05:51 PM (GMT)
Definite win. Rain was a bit of bother but it didn't go continous at least. Lots of people took notice - esp the Rick Astley - the people in the coffee shop were in hysterics. Cops were cool too. Thanks for the TShirt - great idea that was.
I suspect we were infiltrated by a guy dressed completely in black. He said something about us being the Ku Klux Klan then changed tactic and said all religions were bad so what was so special about $cientology. I told him why but he kept going back to the "all religions" thing. I might be wrong, & I wouldn't try to accuse anyone without proof but he seemed to use $cieno tactics (repition, counterback rationalisation, etc). He disappeared after a while.
Really looking forward to next months.
DaftHats - July 12, 2008 06:58 PM (GMT)
I didn't get a t-shirt in the end due to being as easily destracted as a kitten in a room full of bubbles. Blubbles!
I saw the lols we were getting from those at the coffee shop too, win!
I had so much fun that I only realised I was tired when I sat in my train home.
I was asked by three seperate people if they could buy our masks. None of them wanted to buy them from a shop, they wanted the ones we were wearing. WTF?
LittleChris - July 12, 2008 07:01 PM (GMT)
The bubbles were absolute win. We need more for next time. It gave us somthing to chant about.
Yeah Dafthats, I was tired when I got on the train too. I hope your journey was okay, it took you 3 hours to get home, right?
ScudMuffin - July 12, 2008 07:06 PM (GMT)
Got a pic, think I know the guy and If it is he's one of ours having a piss around.
Sticker Bloke was win. Three mega phones was win.
martinpoulter - July 12, 2008 07:12 PM (GMT)
Hi everybody, I really enjoyed today and, although it was frustrating not being able to give out leaflets, I think it was a very satisfying protest and involved a lot of discussion with the public. Thousands more people are now aware that Scientology is known as a dangerous cult, and even if they didn't get the full story, an alarm bell will ring if they or a friend is approached by the cult. Then it only takes a few minutes with Google or Wikipedia and it'll be another loss for Scn.
Caek was delicious- caramel slices especially! Bubbles were a great idea- like BTs except they actually exist and getting rid of them is a less costly process.
Several of the Brumanons are getting seriously good as approaching the public and engaging them in conversation about the cult. Three megaphones (the protesting equivalent of the Three Tenors?) was a good idea- we could rotate to give each other a break.
Much respect and awe once again to all you Brumanons,
anonuk323 - July 12, 2008 07:15 PM (GMT)
Whole protest was win.
We are making a difference, the scilons are reduced to calling the police to complain about us "blocking off their store front" or our signs being "offensive" (hats off to the constable who rebuked them there).
Its also good that we have a large body of anon who can talk and debate with the public. We come across as knowledgeable and affable.
Bubbles = win, caek = win (as ever), megaphones = win, stickers = win. Roll on august!
LittleChris - July 12, 2008 07:17 PM (GMT)
Does anyone know what the theme is for the next protest?
DaftHats - July 12, 2008 07:19 PM (GMT)
I only got home 20 mins ago, brightened an otherwise dull trip by seeing how many youfoundthecards I could hide without being spotted. :D
I failed on getting my point across a few times, but made up for it when meeting a few ladies who had seen through the stress tests and had not been fooled. That was a win in itself.
The response from the public was overwhelmingly pro-Anon, with only a few muttering insults or making you're crazy hand movements at us. I overheard several supportive comments.

Falco - July 12, 2008 07:52 PM (GMT)
I'm gonna have to say this was win.
Delicious caek from both >9K and '323.
Many members of the public asking why we were protesting. (Note to self: Remember to hide sign when not wanting to talk to public).
Numerous members of the public already knowing why we were there, saying they agree.
Brumanon ignoring the rain, continuing as usual - this is what happens when there's no LP :)
Bubbles: The true face of internet terrorism.
Anon t-shirts and flag were great. Whoever's flag I liberated, it will be returned next month.
Arcania - July 12, 2008 08:05 PM (GMT)
Everything that made it win's already been said, but you're missing one important thing.
Big Issue guy getting nicked.
EDIT: Also I need to learn to speak slower
anonymitts - July 12, 2008 08:07 PM (GMT)
Partyvanning of Big Issue drunkard was WINRAR!!!
DaftHats - July 12, 2008 08:26 PM (GMT)
Waitwait I missed that, what happened to Big Issue guy? I'd moved away to let others deal with him.
anonymitts - July 12, 2008 08:29 PM (GMT)
this was before you came - there was a bloke at 11am being an arse. Big policeman came and sorted him out
DaftHats - July 12, 2008 08:36 PM (GMT)
Ah, I was thinking of the one near the end of the protest.
I had a lady from a local church come up and offer to protest with us some time. I was not fully with her hopes that the building would be blown up however, that was too literal on the hellfire!
Jenkum - July 12, 2008 08:38 PM (GMT)
Who was the guy in the suit?
Had a newspaper with eye holes,
He was awesome

Ex scientologist. He left when he was 14 and was disconnected from his family. His mum is still in the cult, stuck in Clearwater somewhere.
Jenkum - July 12, 2008 08:44 PM (GMT)
Dammn, glad he came to support us!
Jenkum - July 12, 2008 08:53 PM (GMT)
To LittleChris,
and to anyone who happened to see it,
but how random was that old who asking us to ring the hospital because they abused his friend in there and he wanted the doctors names?
We were like wtf lol
Bow River - July 12, 2008 08:56 PM (GMT)
A win for me, even though I could only stay for just over an hour due to work commitments, still managed to engage several passers by in conversation however. A big thaks to Bruce who jumped in to help me with one couple who were keen to know more.

I kept telling him to go to the police or to get a lawyer, and insist that none of us could help, until he left. Our powers as e-lawyers can only go so far.
All Anon at protest were awesome. Missed some faces from the last one I made it to.
over9000 - July 12, 2008 10:38 PM (GMT)

zabi - July 12, 2008 11:23 PM (GMT)
A bit of harassment from some drunken twats.
And the annoyance of some preteen ass wanting to know if he can, "CAN I HAVE __________ FOR FREE?"
When we offered free hugs. He declined.
D:
Anon76 - July 13, 2008 08:45 AM (GMT)
Big win.
Lots of the public were talking to us and seemed very interested in hearing what we had to say.
Lots more were already aware from previous protests and reports in the media and agreed with us.
The police were great and gave us no problems, they ignored the unfounded complaints from the scilons.
Bruce and Martin on the megaphones were win.
Those talking to the public were well informed and did a great job.
I think this protest was the best one for months.
Small fails
Turnout was a bit down.
Still no leafletting (but watch this space).

This ^^^
sigh
I wish the public would stop asking for masks. It's not so bad when they ask where to get them from, but when they ask to have yours that it's very annoying. -_-
Saryad - July 13, 2008 02:52 PM (GMT)
I'm really pissed I missed it but i was at a party being completely hammered so its not quite as bad. But it looks like a win to me.
zabi - July 13, 2008 02:57 PM (GMT)
Meeting up with my ex.
Reconciling our differences.
Getting back together.
Epic Win for me.
8D
willonomous - July 13, 2008 04:32 PM (GMT)
Epic win.
Silly people trying to get masks sucked.
Bubbles ruled:D
DaftHats - July 13, 2008 04:48 PM (GMT)
For next time I'll print out a map showing where they can buy masks in Brum. What makes the masks we're wearing more importaint then buying their own?

I think it made it better, more concentrated in one area kept focus didn't block anything off.
Had a better presence.

Holy CRAP! I wasn't even there!
Sorry I sat this one out guys, but it just so happened that a friend's birthday was on Saturday and, well, considering I might not see him a lot after this year...
However, I should be back for August, as that is AFTER my holiday.
