Title: Planning, in my Brumanon?
Description: Surely not! And this early?
anonymitts - July 24, 2008 02:04 PM (GMT)
Shall we start some planning in good time, or shall we make it up on the day?
I shall be bringing, as per usual, my awesomeness. Oh, and a camera.
xoixoi - July 24, 2008 03:11 PM (GMT)
I'll bring loads of cake from the catering company I work for + I'll try (not certain) to bring loads of balloons for the passing kids. How about a few of us dress up as cartoon heroes? Batman has just been released & it would look cool I suppose. Very important though is to keep hammering our message home.
Anyone interested in joining me for a flash raid next week? It'd be cool coz we got a 5 week gap this month between July and Aug picket. Keep the $cinos jilted.
Arcania - July 24, 2008 04:28 PM (GMT)
I'll bring cheesy party music, and pure win.
Falco - July 24, 2008 04:37 PM (GMT)
*checks todays date*
*checks date of protest*
This isn't right, we never plan this early.
I'll bring what I can.
I assume sign, as usual.
Leaflets, now we're allowed.
I'll try for camera and speakers again.
Party stuff.
DaftHats - July 24, 2008 05:34 PM (GMT)
Good sirs, this early organising scares me somewhat.
100 leaflets
Camera
25 glow sticks
Ibuprofin
Packet of plasters
I may bring Jaffa Cakes if finances allow, but Party Rings may be more fitting. :D
Swifty - July 24, 2008 05:45 PM (GMT)
ill have a cam on me
ill try and bring some pop, and some food
anonsrus - July 24, 2008 05:48 PM (GMT)
Organisation is fucking creepy.
over9000 - July 24, 2008 05:49 PM (GMT)
Gonna try for moar bubbles since they were such a success last time.
Also caek again, if I can.
SARS - July 24, 2008 05:59 PM (GMT)
I will bring myself and cake if i can find it!
Necrosis - July 24, 2008 11:04 PM (GMT)
We can leaflet? Sweet. When was this cleared up? Ill bring loads...bout 400 or so. It'll be enough for everyone hopefully. Wont hurt to have too much anyway.
DaftHats - July 24, 2008 11:47 PM (GMT)
ScudMuffin - July 25, 2008 07:06 AM (GMT)
Camera
Gigantasign
Maybe some Scientology In Action SVCDs
willonomous - July 25, 2008 08:42 AM (GMT)

You better bring the kid in a tiny suit and mask. :D
ScudMuffin - July 25, 2008 09:56 AM (GMT)
bring chalk, and a big cult stencil
DaftHats - July 25, 2008 04:51 PM (GMT)
I still have box of big pavement chalks if you want them.
over9000 - July 25, 2008 05:04 PM (GMT)
Wait, where/what exactly are we using the chalks on?
SARS - July 25, 2008 11:10 PM (GMT)
I doubt we will be allowed to write on the pavement. Babynonymous?
anonymitts - July 26, 2008 04:36 AM (GMT)
Babynonymous - maybe we can get the little one banned from Subway :)
ScudMuffin - July 26, 2008 05:16 AM (GMT)
Yeah, chalks for th kiddy. He's got to have something to do other than liquidised caek.
DaftHats - July 26, 2008 11:13 PM (GMT)
With a cunning arrangement of balloons, long lengths of string, several pigeons, six wooden chopsticks and a lightweight banner, we could float a protest sign directly outside the Scilon office windows.

I'll start calculating the drag co-efficient
ScudMuffin - July 29, 2008 03:06 PM (GMT)
I still have the "is tech in?" and "scn: Just Blow It" signs from grinstead. Also have a 3'x5' piece of card that needs a slogan. we could always have whatever your boat on the floaty sign.
DaftHats - July 29, 2008 04:22 PM (GMT)
It would need to be a sign especially for them, what would be the most irritating?
"OH HAI FEELING DOWN STAT TODAY? :3"
SARS - July 29, 2008 08:08 PM (GMT)
We need someone who works in a balloon shop to give us a load of helium balloons and we could write on them and float them outside their windows with string.
xoixoi - July 30, 2008 02:15 PM (GMT)
SARS: I have loads of balloons but i cannot take them all on the train with me for obvious reasons. I have a helium gas bottle but it's strictly forbidden on trainsas well.
It's also good PR to give balloons to kids and passersby.
I want to do everything legally possible to piss off the $cinos.
SARS - July 30, 2008 02:18 PM (GMT)
Is there anyone who can pick xoi up in a car so he/she can bring a bottle of helium?
Arcania - July 30, 2008 02:18 PM (GMT)
Actually, we want to avoid targetting kids since it's kind of unethical
xoixoi - July 30, 2008 02:21 PM (GMT)
ok agreed - no kids. I was just threading out.
What I can promise is that me, along with suit man, are promising to entertain everyone this time round. Loads of cake - how about free bottled water?
Also, can I float the idea of someone standing below Ethel Street with helium balloons with lots of string standing below the COS? We could have Xenu.net printed on them. Then let them float 3 stories up outside the windows of COS. Just wondering is it legal? IMO it should be - we aren't touching them.
SARS - July 30, 2008 02:26 PM (GMT)
I would suggest that we only give them to people who specifically ask for one
Arcania - July 30, 2008 02:27 PM (GMT)
We're not giving balloons out!
xoixoi - July 30, 2008 02:30 PM (GMT)
OK - not giving them out. Lets dead end that - but what about protesting with them? Could we add a Joker theme?
Falco - July 30, 2008 02:36 PM (GMT)
Personally, I see no problem with handing them out to those that ask for one. Offering to kids, I see where the problems lie with that. But if people ask for one, I reckon that'd be alright. There is, of course, the fact that it could be argued we are deliberately using balloons in order to grab the interest of children.
However, you'd also have to check the legality of this, as we know Birmingham City Council will act on the laws and issue fines if needed.

What kind of thing are you thinking?
Arcania - July 30, 2008 02:38 PM (GMT)
I assume he means something like this
xoixoi - July 30, 2008 02:47 PM (GMT)
hehe - nice pic. Kind of yes. It might be a hard for public consumption though. Anyways, I just wanted to inject some ideas. For now I'll stick to cake & bottled water. We'll hive mind the rest closer to the picket date.

| We're not giving balloons out! |
Why so serious?
Really, if he wants to give balloons out to sprogs - let him. No one can say "We're not doing this or that" in Brumanon unless there is a real, legal reason behind it.
Arcania - July 30, 2008 04:12 PM (GMT)
I was just thinking in terms of public image and ethics, that was all.
DaftHats - July 30, 2008 04:31 PM (GMT)
I would say that we should be ok if the parent of the child asks for the balloon, or gives permission. But waving a balloon at a child and asking "Hey kid! Want a balloon? :)" would be too much.
Floating balloons outside silons windows has already been suggested by myself, but with banner attached.
Suggestion for xenu.net address. I find the website slightly overwhelming for someone new to what the cult is about, what other links can we use? YouFoundTheCard.com is good, but a long address.

Whyweprotest.net is a good one, but again, it's a fairly long address. There've gotta be some shorter ones somewhere we can use - anyone?
DaftHats - July 30, 2008 06:03 PM (GMT)
Enturb had some thread on this subject recently, but had not come to any conclusion when I last read it.
