Title: Should i make a CD?

Lolita Protestor - March 13, 2008 04:13 PM (GMT)
And if i do? What should i put on it?

dave - March 13, 2008 04:21 PM (GMT)
I think a lot of people have made CDs and are planning to bring CD players... the general consensus seems to have been to use a few tracks from the "Lulz, a corruption of LOL" compilation that was made available just after the feb 10th protests.

might be worth checking in the "who's bringing what" thread too see if anyone else has it covered.

There is also a thread about music and players:

Falco - March 13, 2008 06:35 PM (GMT)
If you do, be sure to put Never Gonna Give You Up on there ;)

Hermes - March 13, 2008 06:41 PM (GMT)
Dont be forgetting the Fresh Prince now

III - March 13, 2008 06:41 PM (GMT)
and the portal song... not that the music would be needed, i'm sure enough people can sing it all off by heart :)

try and get the actual fresh prince theme. the song on that corruption of lol torrent is the single, and is not as good.

Hermes - March 13, 2008 06:44 PM (GMT)
Hey... hows about American Pie by Don Mclean
*edit*
if anyone gets the portal song reckon we could sing this version

Soul Intruder - March 13, 2008 09:27 PM (GMT)
Queen - Don't Stop Me Now...

Lolita Protestor - March 13, 2008 09:50 PM (GMT)
Anything else i can get?

Btw, is anyone bringing a CD player? Mine is ancient and making it leave the house may render it senile.

Lolita Protestor - March 13, 2008 10:01 PM (GMT)
Lets see, should i slip some dragonforce in there...?
Maybe some Phoenix wright game music (nerdgasm)

Uhm, i can get anything, within reason.

"IN THE VALLEY OF THE DAMNED!!!..."

Maybe sticking to songs everyone knows would be better, get some real anthems going for epic win

some of these are wholly inappropriate...

"little girls" just sounds perverse
"7chan" theme song has the N word in it.

Any more?

I have like 20 mins to fill!

BritFagATDI - March 13, 2008 11:29 PM (GMT)
We don't need this much music. Dragon force won't help. I doubt many will be able to sing along, and it's not really an anthem.

MCR, most people hate, or should.

And this isn't a party persay. It's a protest, and if we have too many people blaring music all the time, it'll turn shit. It'll lose meaning. A couple of songs every now and then. But constant music that isn't even for our cause won't help.

Also if you start playing too much you run into the ground of public broadcasting in which you do not have the rights to play those songs, and if you did you'd have to pay the artists royalties.

True. Very true. But i'll bring along a CD just for the lulz, we don't have to play it. Its just in case we fancy rick rolling a bit when it goes a bit quiet.

I mean, it is an important protest, we all know that we are doing this not only for the good of present and future scientologists, but also for those who have died through scientology.

But if it becomes too serious, people may be put off coming near us altogether.

Ideally (gah, here comes market research training) we need to keep them interested from the moment they set eyes on us, from the moment they leave with information on their minds.

I agree with BritFag. Though music is great I think we should focus more on chanting and the like. We want people to think we are seriously protesting not just listening to music and handing out cake. mmmmm cake.

Perhaps less music?

Oh I know, but I pretty sure we already have a few people bringing music and it's just getting more and more. Also think abou the people that aren't on these forums and what they might bring.

It wasn't planned to bring music on feb 10th and it happened all over the world. Now theres palnning involved and people have seen how effective it is, I can see it becoming a big part. I just don't want it to take over.

The main thing is, we get our message across in a peaceful manner.
