Falco - March 13, 2008 10:36 PM (GMT)
Anything i'm unsure of in brackets.
1. The Church of Scientology has a history of harrassing any of it's critics. The mask is to ensure our protection from any "Fair game" methods they may use (then, if pressed, explain about Fair Game)
2. They are, but they are also Guy Fawkes masks (help? Why do we wear these masks?)
3. We are Anonymous.
4. We are not here to protest the beliefs of Scientologist, rather the corruption that is the church. This organisation has a history of blackmail, forcing abortions *insert list of crimes*
5. Why can't it?
6. In the USA, they do not have to pay taxes, as they are classified as a religion. This does not apply in the UK however, as the Charity Commission ruled they are not actually a religion.
7. Anyone is welcome to join us (needs improving, i know)
8. According to Scientology, Xenu is an evil galactic overlord, who came to Earth sometime in the past. When he left, millions of "ghosts", called Thetans by the Scientologists, remained. These Thetans are believed to be the cause of all bad in the world (Again, needs some work)
9. (Something about suggesting a list of sites for research?)
10. There once was/still is a group similar to that, under the same name. However, they are ot the same as this group, the group that is protesting worldwide, peacefully, and lawfully, today.
11. She is one of the victims of Scientology. *Condensed version of her story here*
12. (Ex-scientologist, long time critic, commited suicide recently? I'm not actually sure on this one)
13. No, this is perfectly legal - as you can probably see, there are police officers around, and you can obviously check with them to confirm we are here lawfully.
14. Yes, would you like some?
Very quickly done, as I've got prep due for tomorrow and am rushing off.
Lolita Protestor - March 13, 2008 10:47 PM (GMT)
I think those are some damn fine answers,
Anon76 - March 13, 2008 10:56 PM (GMT)
My answers:
1. Because of the CoS reputation for harassing and intimidating anyone who criticises them, (give examples, operation freakout etc..)
2. Yes, they look pretty cool don't they.
3. We are group of individuals concerned about the unethical practices of the CoS. Anonymous is a name we sometimes use to describe ourselves.
4. The CoS claims to be a religion but charges many thousands of pounds to learn about the beliefs of the church, using hard sell and brainwashing techniques, they also force people to disconnect from their families, they harass and intimidate anyone who criticises them and there have been a large number of documented cases where Members of the church have died due to the practices of the CoS. There are many other reasons, please see Xenu.net
5. Tom Cruise has made some great films, but has sadly been indoctrinated into this sinister organisation.
6. They were refused Charitable status in the Uk but still refuse to pay VAT.
7. Yes, anyone who wants to help is most welcome, enturbulation.org is a great introduction to the cause with a lot of useful information.
8. Xenu is supposedly the evil ruler of the galaxy who killed millions of aliens in vclcanioes, and according to the scientologists we are now all posessed by the dead spirits of the murdered aliens. The scientologists will not tell you this until you have payed at least £100,000
9. Check it out for yourself, I would encourage you read websites from both sides of the debate, and make up your own mind.
10. We are taking part in peaceful legal demonstrations, on Feb 10th over 8000 of us demonstrated in 108 cities in 17 different countries and there was not a single arrest of a protestor.
11. Lisa McPherson was a scientologist who died after being locked in a room by the CoS wirthout food or water for 10 days and was covered in insect bites according to the autopsy report. The CoS escaped prosecution by discrediting the original coroner.
12. Shawn Lonsdale was a long time critic of the CoS and was recently found dead at his home under suspicious circumstances.
13. No, we have been co-operating with the police at every stage of planning this event.
14. Yes, it's delicious cake, would you like a piece, it may contain nuts.

Oh noes, I didn't know there was a test I haven't revised :(
Well here goes nothing...
1. For our own protection, the church of scientology has a policy were that anyone who criticize them are declared what they call suppressive persons and are "fair game" The fair game policy is that any SP can be tricked, lied to or destroyed
2. Aye
3. We are Anonymous
4. We are against the so called church of scientology's actions in the world: the opprestion of free speech, numerous civil rights violations and their policys for example the paying for texts
5. Why can't it? (cheers Falco:D)
6. In the US they are exempt from paying taxes and their trying to get the same thing over here
7. Do you liek mudkips?
8. Xenu is (according to the CoS)is an evil galactic overlord that sent lots of aliens to Earth in space planes that looked like airliners dumped them around volcanoes then dropped Atomic bombs on them, the alien's ghosts which CoS calls thetans then fused with humans and cause all the bad in the world (i think)
9. Because we have got cake
10. Not true. Most Anonymous members don't know how to hack a computer
11. A victim of scientology who died in their care (will say longer verisions)
12. A critic of Scientology found dead recently allegedly suicide
13. Nah, everything is legal and above board
14. Not just cake but delicious cake (may contain nuts soya and thetans)
Lolita Protestor - March 13, 2008 11:10 PM (GMT)
Warning, scientology may contain nuts.
Anon76 - March 13, 2008 11:14 PM (GMT)
Stickied as these are good questions that we should all be thinking about how we would answer.
Lolita Protestor - March 13, 2008 11:20 PM (GMT)
1) Why the mask?
2) Are those V for Vendetta masks?
3) What group do you belong to?
4) Why are you against Scientology?
5) Uhm, i heard Tom Cruise is one, surely it can't be that bad
6) Whats their 'tax exemption status'?
7) Can i join you?
8) Who or what is Xenu?
9) I don't trust you. Why should i believe you more than them?
10) I heard Anonymous were internet terrorists or Hackers on speed. What do you have to say to that?
11) Who is Lisa McPherson?
12) Who is Shawn Lonsdale
13) Is this an illegal protest?
14) Is that cake?
1) We are wearing masks because the church of scientology uses the fair game policy on anyone who questions or investigates their beliefs.
2) Uh, yes they are but they are also known as Guy fawkes masks, you can buy them in forbidden planet.
3) Anonymous.
4) We are not against Scientology persay. We are against their treatment of their ill followers and their doctrine against medical help for the mentally ill. In addition to bringing people up to date with their crimes against mankind
5) I know. Tom Cruise is a good actor, made some epic films. But, there you go.
6) Well, in the US, they are tax exempt. But here in the UK, as they are not recognized as an official religion, they are not. We'd like this to change everywhere.
7) Sure! I suggest you talk to some of my colleagues here for a more diverse opinion, and if you have the time, try some of these websites on these leaflets and check out what we're going for.
8) Are you OT III or above? Nah, just kidding, actually, Xenu is this kind of Evil Galactic Overlord who currently is locked in a mountain on his own planet for the despicable hate crimes to his people. Yeah, if i was a scientologist, you'd have to pay me an obscene amount of money for that story.
9) Well, i can't make you believe me. But you are, a free person and for that you have the ability to decide things for yourself. Knowledge is free.
10) Hehe, yeah, that was funny. We thought that was hilarious. No, we are a different group of anonymous altogether.
11) Oh, Lisa McPherson was considered mentally unstable when she was entered into the care of Scientologists who declined her mental health care. She died of malnutrition, a pulmonary embolism, dehydration, and injuries akin to cockroach bites.
12) Shawn Lonsdale was a open critic of scientology who 'killed himself'. Very nasty business.
13) Nope, you can ask any of the officers around here. This is a legal, police cooperative protest.
14) Yes it is. Would you like a slice? Oh, are you allergic to nuts, soya, gluten, milk, orrrr thetans?
Brumerican - March 13, 2008 11:27 PM (GMT)
1) Why the mask?
We wear these because the CoS like to harrass and litigate against their critics... if they can identify them.
2) Are those V for Vendetta masks?
Yes they are. Jealous?
3) What group do you belong to?
We are not all members of the same group, but many of us consider ourselves to be apart of a group called Anonymous.
4) Why are you against Scientology?
I am not against Scientology itself. I object to the way it is run. The totalitarian nature of its administration is immoral and more likely to be seen on Wall Street than a Church. I believe that if a reformation happened inside the CoS then it would be much more viable a religion.
5) Uhm, i heard Tom Cruise is one, surely it can't be that bad
Yes he is a member. Hubbard knew that recruiting celebrities was very important because they influence people by their choices. Hopefully these protests will help them to see the light, as it were.
6) Whats their 'tax exemption status'?
In the UK they do not have full charity status so they are not completely exempt of tax. However, they do not pay VAT at the moment.
7) Can i join you?
Of course you can! Check out www.youfoundthecard.com and please dont be put off by unfamiliar terms such as LULZ or mudkip (haha)
8) Who or what is Xenu?
According to Hubbard Xenu was a galactic overlord who planted alien spirits here millions of years ago. Evidently he is still in lockdown in some chamber somewhere in the universe.
9) I don't trust you. Why should i believe you more than them?
Joining us is not an issue of belief. I would suggest looking at both sides and making an informed decision. I will say though that Anonymous is growing much faster the the Cos and our growth could be a testament to our validity.
10) I heard Anonymous were internet terrorists or Hackers on speed. What do you have to say to that?
In its' infancy Anonymous was more prone to internet based action than peaceful protesting. But as you grow you learn. And I would definitely not label us as terrorists. That term was applied by Scientologists and in this day and age they know how powerful the word 'terrorist' can be. A month ago over 8000 people around the world showed up to our protested and this time it should be an even bigger turn out. Now do we sound like 'hackers on speed?'
11) Who is Lisa McPherson?
She was a long time member of Scientology but ended up dying by their hands. She was locked in a room for days and mistreated horribly. Check out www.whyaretheydead.net!
12) Who is Shawn Lonsdale
He was a long time critic of Scientology. He lived in their 'mecca'in Clearwater, Florida. He recently passed away. Reports say it was suicide but it is rather suspect that he would take his life at the very moment when the anti-Scientology movement is bigger than ever. he waited years for this and, I feel, would not have wanted to miss it.
13) Is this an illegal protest?
No this is 100% legal, unlike so many things the CoS does. We always let the authorities know our plans and abide the law. At the protest last month not ONE member of anymous was arrested. However, several members of the CoS were arrested for assault and breaching the peace.
14) Is that cake?
Yes it is! Would you like some? Eat cake at your own risk, but it is still safer than joining the Church of Scientology ;)
Bromfag0001 - March 13, 2008 11:47 PM (GMT)
1) The masks are for 2 reasons. firstly, they cover our identities to the Co$, as they have a history of harassing people who speak out against it, under what they call the fair game policy (i'll explain fgp if they request it), secondly, it shows we are all equals, we have no leaders.
2) Why yes, yes they are (explain them if they ask about it)
3) We are anonymous
4) We are not against the beliefs of Scientology, only the manner in which they operate. They have, over their years of operation, committed many crimes, too many to list. for example, many people have been forced into abortions, giving money or even their houses to the 'church'.
5) Why not? Just because somebody famous supports something, does not mean it is a good thing.
6) In the USA they are classed as a religion, this means they do not have to pay any tax at all. However in the UK they have not been deemed a religion and so, they have to pay tax. However, they have not payed any taxes in the UK for many years.
7) Sure, Have a leaflet
8) The Scientologists believe xenu is an evil galactic overlord locked away in a mountain on his home planet for hate crimes.
9) I'm not saying you should, but take a leaflet, and look over the websites mentioned. They will give you a good understanding of our cause.
10) The group which you mentioned are not part of us, we do not condone their actions
11) Lisa McPherson is a victim of Scientology who died in their care, she was mentally unstable following a car crash, as a Scientologist she was taken into care by her fellow members.
She eventually died after 10 days of malnutrition and confinement
12) Shawn Lonsdale was a critic of Scientology who was found dead in what the police say were suspicious circumstances
13) No, we have planned the protest in every stage with the police.
14) Why yes, yes it is. It is most delicious. No, you cant have some its all mine (OM NYOM NYOM *eat cake*) :P:P
Any good?
Lolita Protestor - March 13, 2008 11:49 PM (GMT)
Anon, forgive me for sounding like a fag.
But...i am so proud of you all. You really do know your shit...
Hermes - March 13, 2008 11:59 PM (GMT)
Tum Tum - March 14, 2008 12:16 AM (GMT)
1) Why the mask i where this to hide my identity from the church of Scientology who has a reputations of harassing it's critics with there fair game policy where they can sue, harass, threaten/immediate , convict etc. To anyone they call a SP (suppressive person)
2) Yes they are, did you like the movie, I thought it was ok my self. Shame for the dodge English accent from Natalie Portman.
3) I belong to no group as i am anonymous i am everyone and no one. (Or i could just say anonymous)
4) I am against Scientology as a organization not there religion. I see it as a cult who disconnects families who don't believe in Scientology any more, harasses it;'s critics with there fair game policy. It also Has infiltrated in our schools with there narconon project, where it's not just against street drugs but also psychiatric drugs. The fact that they have infiltrated a lot of government agency's to gather information on whats going on and who they can black mail into getting what they want. Check out operation snow white. Also the fact that human rights violation and criminal acts are happening inside of the church of Scientology and they are covering them up. (etc etc i could go on and on)
5) Tom cruise is one yes but why should that make it good?
6) In the USA the church of Scientology has a special agreement with IRS where they are more tax exempt than any other religion in the USA after 1000s of church of Scientology members sued the IRS and they eventually gave in to the COS.
But in the UK they are not tax exempt nor can they receive charitable donation but yet they don't pay VAT
7)sure were protesting till 4 get a mask and join in with the fun
8) Xenu secret OT 3 level stuff basically 75 million years a Galactic overlord called xenu of the Galactic Confederacy which consisted of 76 planets. There was over population on all planets and he drugged and took billions from all planets on planes that look like DC8 and where put into volcanoes
on earth also known as Teegeeack where he drop hydrogen bombs on the volcanoes where thetans, were blown into the air by the blast etc etc etc etc
9) True, I've given you some links that might help you decided look on there websites too and make up your own mind
10) There are quite a few people who are anonymous who are computer savvy.
but not all people who are anonymous are not computer savvy, we are here today to peacefully protest. And at our last protest 10th feb there were over 9000!!!! of us and not one arrest.
11) Lisa McPherson's was a Scientology who was trying to leave Scientology but end up having a car crash and was taken to hospital. where she was but under psychiatric care as she was mentally unstable. But members of the church found out about this and took her away to the ft Harrison hotel in clear water Florida where she was held against her will for 15- 17 days. she died of pulmonary embolism caused by bed rest and severe dehydration.
The coroners said she had deteriorated slowly, going without fluids for five to 10 days, was underweight, had several bruises and bedsores. They also showed she had been unconscious for up to 48 hours before her death and had dark brown lesions consistent with insect/animal bites from cockroaches
12) shawn lonsdale was a critic of Scientology who committed suicide but police are still investigating his "death".
13) No it's quite legal we put in for a permit the day after the last protest.
14) Sure is, would you like a piece but i have to warn you it might contain nut's, soya, thethans but a lot safer than Scientology.
I'm tired I'm sure I'll have better response on the day
Lulz0matic - March 14, 2008 12:52 AM (GMT)
1) Why the mask? A simple google search of 'the Fair Game Policy' would inform you, but in short, it covers my ass from harrassement of a myriad of forms I could suffer via the 'Church' should they capture my identity.
2) Are those V for Vendetta masks? Yes. It is a plastic replica of the mask worn by V in aformentioned movie. As to why? Call us fans of fine dialogue, but the that 'V' scene in the film, you know the one I mean, with all the long words like vicarious? That's just amazing. I guess we're all nerds. Or you could consider the relation to Guy Fawkes; a man, like V, and us, who strove to make a difference. But fret not; we're not planning on blowing anything up.
3) What group do you belong to? Well. None. Anonymous isn't a group as much as it's a collective of people with similiar interests; in this case, the disdain of the pratices of the Church of Scientology. There's no membership card, unfortunately.
4) Why are you against Scientology? Why wouldn't I be? It doesn't effect me, it may not effect you. But I, personally, and this is not an attempt to guilt you into anything, cannot simply stand quiet with the knowledge that I have gathered regarding the wrong doings of the church. Broken families, child slave labour, fiscal leeching, brainwashing. I could go on; do you want some links to a more indepth coverage of what we stand against?
5) Uhm, i heard Tom Cruise is one, surely it can't be that bad. Yes. He is. And Scientology as a religion isn't really bad, though not for me. Alas, the problem is with the system, not the followers.
6) Whats their 'tax exemption status'? Non-existant in this country, thankfully. However, they're not paying VAT at the moment; however, they're free of all Tax in Yankee-land and Australia.
7) Can i join you? Of course.
8) Who or what is Xenu? Xenu is a, in my opinion, fictional entity, whose actions are documented in Scientology's OT level three. Basically, his actions are what resulted in us getting the whole Human Suffering deal. Consider him the Scientology equivelant to Satan, kind of.
9) I don't trust you. Why should i believe you more than them? That's a shame; but as to why you should believe me more than them? I'm won't restict you from looking into the other sides arguments. ;)
10) I heard Anonymous were internet terrorists or Hackers on speed. What do you have to say to that? Hackers on Steriods is what Fox News called Anonymous; not speed. Anonymous, as a group, are not without sin. But that was years ago, some silliness with myspace accounts and the likes. I can honestly tell you I had nothing to do with that; and I can almost certainly say the same for the vast majority here. But of course, as a group, we've matured since then. As for Terrorism; I would disagree. We're not using Terror to win this, urm, for lack of a better word, war. We're using the truth.
11) Who is Lisa McPherson? A tragic waste of human life as a result of Scientology. I don't like to talk about it too much really, it's abit of a downer. I can give you a website to read into Lisa McPherson and, unfortunately, several other similar occurances?
12) Who is Shawn Lonsdale A former critic of Scientology, and I mean serious 'talking about OT VIII' type of critic. OT VIII is Scientology's current highest 'level.' But yeah, a few days after the first global protest, he was found dead. Allegedly suicide; but it all seems a tad suspicious really, he apparently, according to his friend, had no reason to want to end it all.
13) Is this an illegal protest? No.
14) Is that cake? No. It's CHOCOLATE CAKE. Fancy some?
ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS; (some of which you may have covered earlier.)
15) OT III? OT VIII? OT WHA? OT III, for example, stands for Operating Thetan Three; which is the 'level' of Scientology. There are, at current, eight levels. Each level is attained after so many auditing sessions and so many pounds spent. It's a bit like Final Fantasy; you played that? But instead of fighting in random battles to level up, you pay a man to tell you to walk to the wall, touch the wall, and the likes until... Well, to be honest, I don't really know. The church likes to keep that a tad hush hush.
16) Thetans? Thetans are what Scientology refers to as the brainwashed souls of Aliens brought to earth by Lord Xenu because the planets under his control were over populated. Thetans cling to us, and cause all things undesirable. Supposedly. You don't learn this till OTIII, but from that point onwards all of the levels deal with Body Thetans.
III - March 14, 2008 04:07 PM (GMT)
good answers i've read here :)
i'm not going to go through all the questions, just a quick comment about people's answers to one, and then an actual answer for another.
about the tax status in the UK.
there have been conflicting answers here.
the truth is that the CoS has been denied religious status by the charities commission, but is nonetheless exempt from VAT. they technically should be paying all other taxes, but have not, in fact, paid anything for many decades.
oh, and they after granted VAT exemption they managed to get it applied retroactively and got back all the VAT they should have paid previously (i'm not sure whether they actually paid it though, i'm presuming the inland revenue would have checked that before giving them money).

| 8) Who or what is Xenu? |
Xenu is a major character in one of the key stories that form the basis of the scientology mythos. he's an alien warlord, if you're curious, but it doesn't really matter who he is, they can believe what they want.
however the fact is that despite that story being something that explains pretty much all of what scientology is about, you don't get to hear it until you've paid at least £100,000 for services with the 'church'.

It seems to me most of us are at least able to deal with questions from the general public? Are there anymore people think they're likely to ask?
Oh, and is there any widely recognised reason why the V mask if the most common? I've been unable to find anything with a quick search, so I'm just wandering.

Actually, i am not sure. I know why its popular, because of the film.
But does it have any relation to the film, aka, V being anonymous, an idea, not a person.

I'll stick up my replies soon. |
1) Because of the fair game policy, which states people who attempt to suppress Scientology, Can be injured or deprived of property by any Scientologist without discipline.
2) They are replicas of the masks used from the Film V for Vendetta, Strictly speaking they are Guy Fawkes Masks.
3) The group is known as Anonymous, because for our own safety we need to be Anonymous
4) Scientology is not only a con, but is directly linked to the deaths of many people, Lisa McPherson is one. She was detained against her will after a car accident, In which time she became violent, stopped eating, became dehydrated and died. Within the space of 17 days she had lost 30lbs and was bitten repeatedly by roaches. visit whyaretheydead.net for more information
5) Some people within Scientology aren't bad, but it's what the other people in Scientology do, I'm not saying that because Mr Cruise is part of scientology he's a bad person, but there might be other members that are bad people, unfortunately, the vast majority of information we have points in the direction that they are bad.
6) because they call their selves a religion, they don't get taxed.
7) If you want, visit some of the websites you can see on the fliers such as youfoundthecard.com
8) Xenu is the overlord that Scientology believed froze then killed alot of other aliens, resulting in thetans attaching their selves to humans.
9) There's nothing saying you should, it's entirely your decision, Take the information we've given you, find the information they're making you pay to have, then make up your own mind.
10) Anonymous have a bad reputation because certain people within Anonymous do these bad things, whenever these suggestions, to attack people's MySpace accounts, the people making them are banned from the forums.
11)Lisa McPherson was a woman held against her will after a car accident, she died in the care of Scientology, from malnutrition, dehydration, he body was severely roach bitten and she had lost 30lbs in 17 days.
12) Shawn Lonsdale was making a documentary about Scientology, he was found dead before it was completed, His death was ruled as suicide, strangely, this was ruled within 24hours of his death, some people believe Scientology was involved.
13) No protest is illegal, people have the right to an assembly.
14) No, This is Delicious Caek.
