I believe it will be more win than if we don't have one.
Anon76 - August 16, 2008 03:46 PM (GMT)
Just got back.
Being bullbaited and getting it on video - Win.
Great reaction form the public - Win.
YMCA - Win.
Lots of leaflets distributed - Win.
Lots of people spoken to - Win.
This was a triumph,
Making a not here, huge success.
AnonDelivery - August 16, 2008 04:00 PM (GMT)
Win- Leaflets, YMCA,Cotton Eye Joe, The Beach, Everything else except the Failpatrol telling us we had Scum etc. On signs
anonverge - August 16, 2008 04:33 PM (GMT)
Did it look like this?
ANonStick - August 16, 2008 04:41 PM (GMT)
All the above and no heavy rain either.
The only negative comments I got all day were from people who thought we were promoting Scientology. One woman with a beef against them said she went out of her way to avoid us the first time she passed by, and suggested making the purpose of the protest clearer. I thought the signs were clear myself, but obviously some people don't get it. Is this a common occurrence?

Yup happens every time, no matter how clear we make our signs some people think we are for them rather than against them.
anonverge - August 16, 2008 04:48 PM (GMT)
Think when i make my sign ill just opt for the word Scientology with one of those red circles and line through it.
That has to be the simplest thing other than just putting ' Scientology = BAD '

But on a positive note some of the general public know to keep away from them.
Buckethead - August 16, 2008 05:06 PM (GMT)
Was pretty good, many leaflets handed out, clued up a few people, got a few praises from passers-by, however the amount of "Are you christians then?" and "It's good to see people promoting the church" pissed me off, I try to say "Well there could be christians here, it's a varied group" but they just talk to me about the bible ¬_¬
Anywho was decent enough except for the lack of numbers, the mass demasking and the early exit.
However, the biggest fails were - the rozzers, particually the female one "yeah but how can you make this sign a lot better?" how 'bout not having your input on it? She really pissed me off.
And the worst fail of the day. As me and the boat exited, we headed towards the pallisades (I think that's the correct place/spelling) through the back entrance, to use the toilets to change, we demasked next to the door, only to find a sci-fag ready with a camera, luckily we covered our faces sharpish and ran to a convered area to quickly make outselves look different.
Just a warning as we've had reports of Cameras here beforehand, next time I'll be prepared.
xoixoi - August 16, 2008 05:44 PM (GMT)
Can't wait for the pics & vids!
anonymitts - August 16, 2008 05:50 PM (GMT)
Win Win Win I'd say
My pics will go up tomorrow and so will the videos. I have the bull baiting and the YMCA (which was ace). Brumanon? More like BUMANON.
Necrosis - August 16, 2008 05:54 PM (GMT)

Swifty - August 16, 2008 05:56 PM (GMT)
no rain was win,
invading the beach for a bit
loling at the police woman when she said to scud im not geting into law, when he was saying we could use the world cult.
leafleting without any problmes.
fail
the police woman not looking at the letter saying we could use the word cult.
been asked no to go on ether street
was a major win with just some fail, that we couldn't help as we cant pay of the cops like the C0$
xoixoi - August 16, 2008 06:03 PM (GMT)
I think we need, in a very polite way, to inform the police next time that the word cult is OK. No one should make a complaint about the police woman, just ask (nicely), that next time, all police know this.
over9000 - August 16, 2008 06:03 PM (GMT)
Win:
- Lots of dancing and singing (lolYMCA)
- The faggot bullbaiting
- Rickrolling the beach
- Dead Stig
- Swifty's caeks
Fail:
- Femcop being a total dick
Jolly good show today guys.

we had a letter saying we could, every time we tired to show it her saying we could use it, she just blanked it and carried on saying we shouldn't use it.
Falco - August 16, 2008 07:33 PM (GMT)
Win:
Numerous leaflets handed out.
Several members of the public stating their support.
The nice cop (the guy) who kept suggesting ideas.
Delicious caek.
The rain, or lack of it.
Fail:
Ugh, kids.

Stealing my fucking bubbles. I wouldn't have minded if they would have asked first, stupid brats.
DaftHats - August 16, 2008 08:40 PM (GMT)
Bloody kids tried to steal my pink gay unicorn ballon. :(
Just got home and am tired! Gave up my seat on the train so a little girl could sit with her mum and was grumped at by sulky mum, wtf? :/ But ticket inspector let me have a free chocolate muffin so all is good. :)
Day was win! No rain, much dancing and many leaflets given out! Heard many supportive comments from passing people.
Felt sorry for oldguy who told me how he had been tricked into taking stress test twice and lured into building, but respect to him for telling them that they were a scam.
Anon76 - August 16, 2008 08:43 PM (GMT)
I'm going to draft an email tommorow requesting confirmation that:
1. The use of the word cult is acceptable.
2. We can protest in Ethel St.
I'll also request that all officers on the ground be made aware of this.
I'll post the email up here before i send it
Jenkum - August 16, 2008 08:47 PM (GMT)
Was win, everything thats already been said really.
Beach Raid was good, but they couldn't play Rick Astley or Final Countdown
Femcop i saw was annoying, and yes kids did get a bit close. We had them walking among us just there.
Ready for next one!

I'm sure you've seen this, but in case it'll help, below is a link to the full Justice Latey judgement that contains numerous instances of the word 'cult', and the classic "In my judgement it is corrupt, sinister and dangerous."

it was, but the police today ignored it, so if we get another one saying we can adds more wate to our argument.
zabi - August 16, 2008 11:32 PM (GMT)
Overall win tbh.
Leafletan.
Musican.
Beachan.
Rockyan.
Only small amount of fail was the immense douchebag who thought he was so brilliant to call [Name removed - Anonymous, remember ;)] a "little faggot" or some shit like that. Way to show comaradarie(sp). Srsly. Even some other anon has just said to me on the 'incident'
"Go to the protests for the company of like minded, fanatical individuals and general fun. Not to have to deal with that shit from supposed 'comrades'"
So yeah. Few of us wont be attending next protest.

Why so serious?
C'mon, really, we're Anon, "faggot" and such like is like calling someone "mate" or "babe".
Namecalling is srs bsns,
Falco - August 16, 2008 11:39 PM (GMT)
I would assume the mention of "faggot" was not meant as an insult, or anything personal. People have been calling each other moralfags, newfags etc since this started, and going back way before then as well. This was discussed on Enturb before, and if I remember correctly, the conclusion was that in the sense we use the word faggot/fag for one another, it's more a term of endearment than anything else.

willonomous - August 17, 2008 09:13 AM (GMT)
Swiftys cake tremendous win.
Best, cake, EVER!
no rain was a fantabulous win along with the largeamountof leaflets distributed.
Femcop def fail though. Maybe need a sign that says 'We are Legally allowed to call Scientology a CULT!'

If she'd have looked at the letter 'mitts tried to show her, as the male cop did with the one I had, she'd have realised that we were allowed to.

Final word on this faggot debacle:
Why so serious?
Y'know cause it's such a big deal.
xoixoi - August 17, 2008 12:44 PM (GMT)
Ok guys & girls. I'm a fag. Seriously, I am. It doesn't mean what it used to mean. Everyone chill. If a queer guy is ok with it I'm sure you can be too.
DaftHats - August 17, 2008 01:56 PM (GMT)
Faggots in gravy are tasty, you must try them. ;)
EDIT: Wow, glad I went to the pub. Not only did I get to say bye properly, but I avoided getting potentially face-fagged.
Bruce - August 19, 2008 11:35 AM (GMT)
Watched the vids on aledged 'bulbaiting' in Brum. I must be missing the plot somewhere, what bullbaiting?
When you have been bullbaited by the cult you WILL know about it. They are likely to target an individual, try and isolate him/er, tone 40 shouts 12 inches from your face, abusive and slanderous accusations, total invasion of your personal space, cult vid cameras waiting to record any reaction from their target, another hovering with his handy (cell phone) with the local cop shop on pre-dail. Then you will have been bullbaited by this obnoxious cult.
Now John Sweeney, he was bullbaited and you can see the effect it had on him.
Bruce
anonuk323 - August 19, 2008 11:41 AM (GMT)
This is probably the closest we've gotten to being bullbaited in Brum.
We do have the 30 something bloke with 2 kids who tried to de-mask a load of us and generally be a nuisance, but thats far too subtle for the cult.
There was one photographer who decided the most unobtrusive way to photograph us was to hide behind the phone boxes; shame we spotted him, he suddenly found Tescos to be the most interesting thing to photograph.
Bruce - August 19, 2008 11:57 AM (GMT)
Hope that nobody is ever targetted for bullbaiting. Don't wish for it.
However if it does happen it is simple to deflect. Turn shoulder on the baiter to regain personal space, do NOT attemp to enter into a dialogue as even the most hardened protester of this cult will probably come off second best. Remember there are Training Routines that the culties go through and it is quite possible that a fanatical Sea Org member may lead the bullbaiting. Other Anon rally to protect but do NOT rise to the bait or retalliate.
Record on Vid (the cult will be) and if it gets intollerable and continues call the police to report harrassment, threatening behaviour etc and particularly if a lady (no discrimination here) if it is actually the case then that you are fearful for your safety.
Bruce
anonymitts - August 19, 2008 03:55 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it wasn't really bullbaiting, but it was funny. I have the feeling that the scilons who were there were quite embarrassed but were not going to show it to us.
The brum-scilons appear to have the British Stiff Upper Lip almost right. If they just stopped bawwing to the police every five minutes, I'd have more respect for them.
I doubt we'll ever see proper bullbaiting in Brum.
I did dig the new security chick. In that suit and the hard expression I expected her to go all Matrix on us. If she smiled she'd be a MILF :)
anonverge - August 19, 2008 04:02 PM (GMT)
Let operation; Sex the scilons begin!
Or atleast hug the hot security guard.
ScudMuffin - August 19, 2008 04:03 PM (GMT)
I need to see a better pic of new security chick. Most of the scilon birds are at least stuffable.
