Oh, there's no doubt about that.

The German market'll be in town - leeching off them, outdoing them etc.

Jacob - November 9, 2008 12:57 PM (GMT)
Well Saint Nick originated from Germany / one of its bordering countries, right? A german / christmas theme would be cool. Unfortunately, I'd still be going as me. I have no money for costumes.

ScudMuffin - November 9, 2008 02:09 PM (GMT)

Hello

Very new here as I stumbled across this site this morning. You guys gave me a leaflet at artsfest and I've been wondering since how to get involved.

Am based over in Wolves, but would like to head over to this.

Have a browse round the static site (link at the top), especially the protests page
Anything further, come back and ask :)

And on this note, if you're after a quick reply, I'd suggest trying the IRC channel, linked at the top of the page. "IRC:.." ff you've got an IRC client, "Online IRC" if not.

Turkey I believe. :)
Hopefully the Germans will love us since we're cool and Germans are cool. 8D
Only thing is, I've been to the German market 4 times already (it's only on it's 3rd day) and it's terribly cpacked there, I think we'll have to retreat mainly down Ethel St. We might piss the sellers off if we stand infront of their stalls.

Busier than ArtsFest was?
We managed then, I reckon we can do it again just as easily.

Well, we were hoping for busy really, more public etc. I guess I should've said crowded rather than busy.

over9000 - November 16, 2008 06:00 PM (GMT)
VERY crowded, much more than ArtsFest, gotta be a good 5,000 people walking up and down New St.

Falco - November 16, 2008 06:27 PM (GMT)
Eh, we'll improvise something. We always do.

anonymitts - November 16, 2008 07:24 PM (GMT)
and if all else fails, screw scientology - beer and frankfurters FTW!!!!

o yea, also its not far to the bars from top of ethel street

ScudMuffin - November 16, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
We'll also have the christmas stalls to contend with. The christmas fayer is there till the 29th/30th.

Falco - November 16, 2008 08:33 PM (GMT)
Isn't all that up by the library though? Well out of our way.

Buckethead - November 16, 2008 09:17 PM (GMT)
Myself and the Boat haven't attended the last two, but we should be back with a vengeance for this one, I'll possibly be bringing someone too, but the main concern is the german market, this may bring artsfest syndrome back, jumpy security and many complaints, which would mean our retreat down ethel st, but this would cause the scilons to complain and possibly that alternative clothes shop to have a go at us again (not sure when that was, sometime in the summer I think).

But lets hope for a good protest, I'll bring my santa hat if I can find it, maybe use a beard and some eye cover as my mask ;)

anon5615 - November 24, 2008 12:46 AM (GMT)
Newfag reporting in. I'll be there :)

Speaking of the german market, it was rammed as hell last year so might not be a good place to protest but may well be a decent place to drop a few business cards around covertly?

ScudMuffin - November 24, 2008 06:35 AM (GMT)
Up by the museum if you get chance early enough. Just remember they have to have protest relevant info, YFTCs will get you into trouble. Leaflet hand outs are alright, there's a selection on the main site.

New Street itself should be fine, we've been there when there's been an even on and it's been packed before.

It was rather packed and crowded on New Street a few months ago when the ArtsFest was around - we carried on regardless, and in my opinion, it was one of the better protests.

willonomous - November 24, 2008 05:31 PM (GMT)
Saturday was very busy, much busier than arts fest, but getting there about 11 should mean we get enough space for all of us stand before the majority of shoppers turn up.

Falco - November 25, 2008 09:47 PM (GMT)
Had a look around it earlier - there'll be heavy foot traffic, but there's plenty of room for us to do our thing, I reckon. If Galanon gets the Trollcannon, even better.

ScudMuffin - November 25, 2008 11:43 PM (GMT)
Yeah, had a scout about there too. Have a look at the new scilon leaflets if you can, rather interesting.
