Title: Considering a piece of equipment
Galanon - November 17, 2008 07:19 PM (GMT)
On the recommendation of a London anon, I'm considering buying one of these for protest use:
http://www.absolutemusic.co.uk/shop/view_p...oduct=behepa40#This looks to be ideal for protests - it's easily portable, rechargable, and has a regular audio input, giving us more options than holding a phone to a megaphone. At the same time, it's not so ricockulously large or powerful that it would attract complaints, and the price tag is fairly reasonable.
I'm not looking for donations, since this is something I'd want to keep for my own use (Festival campsites, family events, pissing people off on the train etc.), but I'm looking for opinions - would this be worth getting?

That is almost certainly the most epic video I have ever encountered.
My mind is now almost made up...

That's epic. I'd actually like to help with the costs. :3

As long as it doesn't get ruined by rain or Arc (like our latest megaphone) then sure, go for it. I'd try and help funding, but no promises.

Righty right.
The trollcannon has been ordered.
Apparently, it's not in stock right now, but 23 days ought to be enough time to forge one from STANDARDS and INVESTMENTS, and get it shipped to me.
I'll let you guys know when/if it turns up, then take it down the park for some testing.
As I say, I'm not asking for contributions, and if this turns out to be folly rather than pure win that's my problem to deal with, but if you do want to help out I'll gladly accept.

Trollcannon has been shipped, should have it tomorrow!
Also, working on a collection of tunes to blast through it. I have the 'lulz - a corruption of LOL' compilation ready to go, and I'm now gathering up choice national anthems, movie & game themes, and some classics from the heady days of YTMND. I'll get some christmas songs too, and if anyone else wants to play things though it, that's great as well. Any player with a regular 3.5mm jack should work.

On that video, can anyone identify the tune that starts at 1:35?
Convinced that I must obtain it for TROLLCANNON.

Cheers for that, I'll try to track it down myself, but if you can bring it along that would be really handy.
Next on my list to find is a decent OT3.mp3 - a few minutes of Hubbard yapping on about space opera to blast at anyone who denies it's existence.

http://scientrology.org/downloads/Hubbard2.mp38:27 so it might be a bit long. It starts with Xenu & the Loyal Officers and ends with the "there was no Christ" bit.

Am I too late to suggest that Behringer aren't that reliable?
Makesure you're careful with it or there's a chance it'll break easy, all guitar gear the produce (pedals and whatnot) are always a bit hit and miss.
