Title: London?
Description: Who is planning to go?

Nixon - January 12, 2009 09:39 PM (GMT)
I was talking to suit guy in the pub after the loltest and he brought up the fact that london is taking their protest this coming saturday, and that because he was an employee of an unnamed train company he can get free train fares. I am also up for going down on the train on the morning of the 17th, even though i have to be back for work at 6 in the evening

train fares are about £40 from new street to Euston, although there is a national express coach apparently that goes to london for £1.50, not sure where it goes from or to exactly

any other ideas from other willing participants would be appreciated

Hey there Nixon, Suit guy here. I will see if I can sort out a couple of traintickets. No promises though - will check anyway. National Express is cheap but takes ages though. Will sort out details tmrw (13th).

I'd probably be game for another epic protest as long as you guys can get the tickets for free.

I'd want to quickly buy a V mask from forbiddenplanet before going, though. Or, better yet, buy one off someone who can buy me one this week. I can't really go to birmingham between now and saturday, you see.

As for ideas: the train is really the only way to go, since everything else will take far too long. I propose we meet somewhere in the pallisades or bullring at about 9:00 or 10:00 (obviously sort that out through PMs) before we go to the train station.

So long as people would be sticking together9ish0 I'm up for it.
and i say keep togetherish because I'm not big on traveling to places i dont know well on my own, don't know why but meh tis the way i am.
but meh, yeh will be kool 2 'tests in 2 weeks, lolerific.

TLDRCBA: I wanna go, but need babysitting on public transport.

after checking at my local train station, i found a ticket for £26 which you have to book a seat on the way down but get on any train on the way back, but it is only from new street, although you do get free underground access all day as well. thats if suit guy cant get tickets

the direct train only takes an hour and a quarter as well *nod*

I got good news and I got bad news. I've spoken to my ex-manager and he told me to get lost. I told him it was for "charity" but he still declined. So I'm sorry I can't get any free tickets this time round.

Good news is that I still plan on going + I am willing to buy a ticket for someone who needs one. I was thinking that either Nixon or Vir deserved it as I did promise them personally I would do what I could for them. I will book the ticket for the 09:33am and the return for 17:23pm. So plz msg/txt me Nixon or Vir to confirm. If both of you guys don't need it I'll give it to any other anon who wants it.

Edit: Actually Nixon, £26 is a good deal - esp if it includes underground use for the day. If you gonna buy one for yourself - buy one for me too - I'll pay you for both. I can't find the £26 deal online :-(

I'd been meaning to attend a London protest for a while now - unfortunately, I'm otherwise engaged this weekend. Go show 'em how it's done ;)

ScudMuffin - January 13, 2009 02:50 PM (GMT)
Will be at a match next weekend so I'm unable to attend.

Jacob - January 13, 2009 05:05 PM (GMT)
Okay, that's me out. I'm a cheapo college student and I don't deserve a free ticket as much as someone like Nix. Plus I probably wouldn't make it to birmingham in time for 9:33

Virion - January 13, 2009 05:45 PM (GMT)
I'll glady and with much rejoicing make merry on ye olde London City. Mucho gratias to SuitGuy if the offer still stands.
London London here we come.
Anonymous is ever marching on!

I'll be there, but i come in at Kings Cross (loleastanglia) so meeting up with you guys ahead of the protest could be tricky. It usually all kicks of at Queen Victoria Street just before 11, right by Blackfriars station - that would be the best place to meet up.

I'll be taking the TROLLCANNON <3 and the chunky sign, but my flyers are a bit brum-centric, I'll have to find some more appropriate ones.

See you all there!

xoixoi - January 13, 2009 09:15 PM (GMT)
OK - its settled from my side. I'll get the ticket for Vir & pay half the ticket for Nixon. I'll get in touch with you guys personally tmrw morning. Take care everyone - lets do this.

Nixon - January 16, 2009 12:19 AM (GMT)
YOU KNOW ITS FUCKING 2 MILES FROM EUSTON STATION TO THE PROTEST

gahhhhhhhh......... :(

Galanon - January 16, 2009 07:10 AM (GMT)
The underground is the way to go - walk 200m from Euston rail station to Euston Square underground (should be very well signposted), then take the circle line (yellow) round to Blackfriars. That's my route too, although I get on at the stop after.
