Title: So...i read dianetics

And it was one of those books where you read it with a pre-conceived idea of the way its going to be.

And you read it, and you're saying; Well, i could see that making sense. And, thats got something to it.

Then you get hit with the full power and force of L. Ron Hubbard's bizarre ideas.

Seriously. I read the chapters on the pre-natal engrams, and i was laughing my head off.

One of his subjects (church-goers) remembered injuring his head in the womb after his mother masturbated and had a violent orgasm.

In the blurbs on the inside cover, it said this book should be in everyones personal library-yeah. Filed under Comedy.

I fap to this -> Dianetics

I cause pre-natal engrams.

I am the first pregnant man.

IS THIS FUCKED UP?

Yeah, I constantly laugh at the ideas of Dianetics. You know, he could have made a much more lasting cult if he carried on with Dianetics rather than going all Sci-Fi coo coo bananas.

Well its not really his fault, i mean if you took that many drugs and wne that power crazy you might go shit headed as well.

L Ron Hubbard seemed to have been well read and had some new ideas. But seriously, the whole time travel idea. Next to dianetics back to the future looks like a serious scientific documentary. Dianetics-> Diarrhoea.

No he couldn't, thats _why_ he invented the Scientology coo coo bananas stuff; the american psychiatric profession in the 50's ripped Dianetics to shreds as bogus and hokum (wikipedia article on dianetics outlines the opposition and that "his data is in the form of anecdotes and speculations ... Such speculation is appropriate in fiction, but not in science.")
IIRC, there were also a lot of outstanding lawsuits against hubbard and dianeticians (or whatever you politely call people who "practised" dianetics) for practising medicine without a licence, so hubbard needed a new money spinner ASAP to extricate himself, hence the cult of Scientology.

Some of the language used at the time because of the era is hilarious.

I was trying to read it with his voice in my head, but i kept getting Morgan Freeman reading it.

I suggest you try it. It makes it a bit more bearable.
