Title: London April 18th Trip Report
Description: Galanon at Op: All Your Base Are Belong

Happened to be in the right part of the world at the weekend, so I hopped down to London for Saturday's raid. Took TROLLCANNON <3, plenty of Brumanon-branded fliers, and a handy little sign that someone had left behind in Brum last week.

The first leg, at Queen Victoria Street, was very quiet - there couldn't have been more than 30 of us. Still, TROLLCANNON <3 served us well until Jedi arrived with his legendary Haet Machine. As I blasted out one particular tune, a girl skipped up to me and exclaimed that she had made it herself. So, it was good to be able to congratulate DJ Namenlos for her John Sweeney mix, and to tell her, in the nicest possible way, that her Lick a Lolly remix sucks balls. Met another guy who'd just wandered down out of curiosity, and convinced him to raid with us for the rest of the day.

Police were very hands-off, there were about 5 cops and they mostly stayed on the other side of the road. I am absolutely certain that the scilons are paying to have buses park in front of the QVS entrance as a sight-screen, since there's been one there at all 3 of the last raids I've been on. Still, the bus driver was cool, and came over to get a flier, while a solitary scilon lady crept around taking pics through the bus windows.

At about 12, we paraded up to St Paul's station, and entered the series of tubes, fliering and playing tunes as we went. Tottenham Court Road was a fair bit more busy, somewhere between 50 and 100 anons depending on the time. Lulz, chicken, LOUD NOISES, all of that good stuff. Again, police were good to us, and the only scilon in evidence was the same woman we'd seen at QVS. A little after 3pm, I left to meet up with veteran anon Werefern (she was bitten by a shrub at an early age) for a swift pint. We came back to find that the protest had vanished.

Apparently, the cops had decided that we were only ok to protest until 4. Some anons have been up in arms about this, since it was an arbitrary cut-off with no basis in law, but most were ok about it. After all, the plod had been fair with us all day, and there was a big London derby match which they had to go police / get pissed and watch. Besides, we'd mostly decided that it was pub time.

Followers of the drama-fest that is WWP's London threads will be happy to hear that nearly all of the usual suspects were in attendance. Jedi added to his franchise-crimes by combining his usual Batman mask and Lightsaber with a perfect Star Trek bridge officer's uniform, Peerless Mantis was sporting a terrible mohican, and some chunky bloke named Heretic was continuing a childish face-fagging war with a guy known as The Shadow. Bluebell was looking positively radiant, perhaps there's a new man in her alley.

Pub was quite epic, although the barstaff nagged us to squeeze into a small corner to make room for the football crowd, and were generally a bit angry with us. Talking to one of them later, I found out that they had thought we were Scientologists, and they were relieved to hear the truth. Werefern and I stayed drinking for the rest of the night, and missed some of the after-raid activities, including a fight with some chavs over another TROLLCANNON <3 (which Anon actually won!), and the late night glowstick raid.

Tl:dr - London anon are still going strong, despite reduced numbers. Police didn't decide to administer any internal bleedings, but did send us home slightly early. Great time was had by all.

Cool, i wonder how the plod will feel bout dealing with the summer central raid? Still looks to be epic then!
