Title: tactics
Description: no, not tic tacs.

In several places on these here forums, discussions have turned to ideas about what to do next time to maximise the good things and minimise various bad things.

one idea that keeps cropping up (mainly because I keep saying it, but other people have as well I think), is that we should have people doing different roles, and dressing/acting accordingly.

so:
people with full masks and signs who attract attention and form the main body of the protest, showing our numbers and such.
people with maybe less intimidating face-coverings who go about leafletting, taking advantage of any attention the protest gets to hand out stuff, and talking to people and such.

and also when we have music out and do chants and memes for the lulz, we should make sure that there are still some people with signs visible to the passing public and leafletters. we don't want to rely on certain people always fulfilling that role, because they deserve to join in the uber-fun as well.

as I said, several people have been mentioning stuff like this, and people obviously thought about it on the spot on the 15th as there were people keeping up the informing while others were outside the 'church' rickrolling.
however I think it's not quite enough to leave it up to people to sort out that spontaneously, because when there's not many people actually out of the main body informing, there's a big chance that those who are there will just say "fuck it" and go join the fun.
also, resources need to be spread about for full effectiveness. i'm sure that on the 15th there were lots of leaflets buried within the group of people doing pigeon-cult.

I suggest that we decide on what the best arrangements of people would be and such, and then on the day the hi-viz people can keep it in mind and request people to do certain roles when there are people needed.

obviously, it will always be people's own choice what they do, but i'm sure that if someone points out that there's no one giving out leaflets despite all the attention gotten by mr astley, a few anon will take up the responsibility for a while, even if they have to steal leaflets off those who haven't.

what does anonymous think?

I am in agreement good anon

I kind of think I see what you're getting at... I agree with what you say about having specific Squads... But I don't see how this can be organised well.

This is why:

We have 77 members on this forum (at time of post)

Assuming that a third are inactive/ unable to turn up on the day, let's say we have 50 on brumanon who turn up to Ethel street. Out of 100, that means half of us know what we're doing. The rest are non-internet anons, or tag-alongs who don't take heed of this forum.

I wasn't thinking of proper organisation as in assigning people into squads.

but rather, if we decide what roles there are that need to be filled, then people can decide whether to fill one of them or not.

people posting on here to say what they're doing would be useful, so people can make informed decisions based on what's needed.

if everyone who is on here knows, they can mention it to other people who turn up, and adjustments can be made if needed (there are always spare signs/masks and lots of leaflets). anonymous is flexible.

again, hi-viz chaps (if they agree to it) can act as vague coordinators, relaying to people if some rearrangements are needed.

it's not a case of telling people what to do or anything, but just getting it all worked out what people are thinking anyway, so that we're on the same page, and letting people know what's needed at the time, if anything.

I think we should perhaps prepare a locked 'newbie' forum for those who do find us and give them the facts, and leaflet templates as well as codes of conduct and dress.

1) Welcome

2) Flyers: There are/were a bunch of flyers and such on entub.

I am not sure if the flyers/ posters/ leaflets thread in enturb has been restored yet, But I suggest scouring there to see if there is anything.

Of course, feel free to make your own design, Even submit it to Enturb so it can be published by many, and used in other locations. Just make sure your facts are right.

*EDIT*
Enturb Section is here:

I'm planning on bringing my mask, and then either another smaller mask/sunglasses/scarf etc as well, to the next protest. I'll probably start off wearing the V mask again, for the general effect while everyone turns up. Once leafletting begins properly, with several doing it, i'll go join in, as I did this time. Depending on the reaction I get from the public will depend on whether or not I switch to my alternate disguise.

that is the only problem i see.

looking like nixon normally without a mask is pretty revolting and intimidationg, and the fact i have an elongated nose doesn't help.

as much as i would like to hand out fliers and talk to the GP, i dont feel it would be a good idea unless i switched disguise to the standard aviators-scarf thing =/
